(2) 120VAC/20A dedicated power circuits to EMS panels Division of Work: A. E.C. General Responsibilities: 1. The E.G. shall furnish and install all conduit and electrical raceways for the low voltage cabling as specified in these notes and in accordance with the Contract Drawings and Specifications. The E.C. shall also mount the Control Panels, provide 120V control power, and mount and wire the Lighting Control Panel(s) and Energy Meter(s). B. The E.C. Scope of Work is as follows: 1. Control Panel Mounting: a. The E.C. shall mount the following Control Panels: 1) SLP 2) PIP 3) DZC -RP 4) LCP1 and LCP2 2. Conduit and Electrical Raceways (EMT unless noted otherwise): a. The E.C. shall furnish and install the conduit to connect the Control Panels and provide stub -outs to concealed, accessible areas for the low voltage cabling. b. The E.C. shall furnish and install the electrical boxes for all the space mounted sensors and provide 3 /4" or larger EMT stub -ups to concealed, accessible areas for low voltage cabling. c. The E.C. shall furnish and install a 3 /a" conduit to the Energy Meter(s) for low voltage communications cabling. 3. Energy Meter(s): a. The E.C. shall install the Energy Meter(s) in accordance with the installation instructions. The E.C. shall install the communications cable (24/2), and connect the communications cable to the Energy Meter. The E.C. shall label the communications cable at both ends. Labels shall indicate what device the cable is connected to and the equipment monitored. 4. Current Transducers: a. The E.C. shall install CTs on the EF and Sign circuits. The CTs shall be located at the breakers serving the individual circuits. EMT sized to accommodate the low voltage cables from the breaker panel CTs to the SLP shall be furnished and installed by the E.C. The E.C. shall install the low voltage cable for the CTs and terminate the CT cable(s) at the breaker panel end. The E.C. shall label the CT cables at both ends. Labels shall indicate what device the cable is connected to and the equipment monitored. 5. Lighting Control Panel(s): a. All line voltage wiring in the LCP(s) shall be performed by the E.C. Terminals are provided for switched and un- switched power to the field lighting circuits. The E.C. shall furnish and install 1" EMT between the LCP(s) and the SLP. 6. 120V Control Power: a. The E.C. shall furnish and install (2) 120V circuits to power the Control Panels. (1) 120V circuit shall power the PIP, (1) 120V circuit shall power the LCP Panel(s). Each 120V circuit shall have a dedicated, 20A breaker. The breaker serving the PIP shall be labeled SLP, The breaker serving the LCP Panel(s) shall be labeled LCP. C. M.C. General Responsibilities: 1. The M.C. shall furnish and install the low voltage cables, mount the low voltage control and sensing devices, and terminate the low voltage control and sensing devices as specified in these Notes and in accordance with the Contract Drawings and Specifications. Electrical raceways and conduit is provided by the E.C. Low voltage is defined as less than 120V. 2. The M.C. Scope of Work is as follows: a. Low Voltage Cabling: 1) The M.C. shall furnish and install the low voltage cabling required to connect the EMS sensors and control devices to their respective control panels and controlled equipment. Multi- conductor low voltage cabling from the Digital Zone Controllers (DZC) to the rooftop units is part of the EMS system and shall be installed under this contract. Fire alarm and life safety systems are NOT part of the EMS installation and shall be installed by others. b. Control Panel Wiring: 1) The M.C. shall install and terminate the low voltage cabling in the following Control Panels: a) SLP b) PIP c) DZC -RP d) LCP1 and LCP2 (low voltage terminations only) c. Sensor Mounting and Wiring: 1) The M.C. shall mount and wire the low voltage sensors and devices noted in "EMS Components" Sections: 2, 3, 6, and 7. d. Current Transducers: 1) The E.C. shall mount the EF and Signage CTs. The M.C. shall furnish the low voltage cable to the E.C. for installation by the E.C. The E.C. shall terminate the CT cables at the line voltage end. The M.C. shall terminate the CT cables at the SLP end. e. Energy Meter Communications: 1) The M.C. shall furnish the communications cable to the E.C. for installation by the E.C. The E.C. shall terminate the Energy Meter communications cable at the line voltage end. The M.C. shall terminate the communications cable at the SLP end. f. Lighting Control Panel(s) Control: 1) The M.C. shall furnish and install the multi- conductor low voltage control cable from the SLP to the LCP(s) and terminate the cable(s) at both ends. Pushbutton Lighting Override Panels: 1) The M.C. shall furnish and install the low voltage control cabling for (1 to 3) Lighting OV Panels. (1) 2 -button OV Panel in the Aerobics, (1) 2 -button OV Panel in the Spin Room, and (1) 8 -button OV Panel at the front Reception Desk. The M.C. shall terminate the cables at both ends. h. Outside Sensing Device: 1) The M.C. shall furnish and install the low voltage control cabling to the roof mounted OSD and terminate the cable at both ends. The OSD device requires an 8' section of /2" rigid conduit used as a mast for mounting. Refer to the control drawings for mounting details. The M.C. shall furnish and install the mast. Coordinate the mast installation with the roofers to provide a water tight installation. i. Outside Enthalpy Sensor: 1) The M.C. shall furnish and install the low voltage control cabling to the OE and terminate at both ends. The OE must be mounted on the North wall, 10' above grade. g. Contractor Coordination: A. The E.C. and M.C. shall coordinate their efforts so as not to impede the progress of either Trade. Lack of coordination between Trades shall not be grounds for additional costs to the owner nor delay of project. Disputes shall be referred to the project Superintendent. 1. The E.C. shall install the electrical raceways and boxes in a timely manner so as to allow the M.C. to install the low voltage control cabling before wall coverings and ceiling grids go up. 2. The M.C. shall install the low voltage devices, control cabling, and terminate at both ends before the mechanical equipment is started. 3. All overhead work shall be completed before floor coverings are installed. EMS Equipment Delivery: A. The EMS supplier shall provide (2) shipments for the project. The first shipment will include the EMS enclosures and high work control devices and shop drawings. The second shipment will include the electronic back - plates and the balance of the EMS sensors and control devices. In cases where the installation responsibilities are divided across different Trades, the (2) shipments shall be divided and shipped to their respective Contractors. B. After notification of award and prior to commencement of work (1 week minimum), the Contractor(s) shall contact the EMS supplier and provide the following information: 1. Contact name and phone number of person responsible for receiving the equipment and a shipping address. Where shipping addresses are the project address, the requesting Contractor assumes all responsibility for receiving the equipment. 2. Contact name and phone number of the Foreman who will be installing the EMS equipment. 3. Upon receiving a valid shipping request, the EMS provider shall send the requested equipment to arrive within 5 working days of the request. 4. Each shipment is accompanied by an inventory list. The receiving Contractor shall reconcile the shipment with the inventory list. The Contractor shall notify the EMS provider of any discrepancies within 1 week of receiving the equipment. Missing or damaged equipment reported after 2 weeks from date of shipment become the responsibility of the Contractor and replacements will be charged accordingly. General EMS Installation Notes: A. The Digital Zone Controllers (DZCs) derive their power from the rooftop unit to which they are connected. They are shipped pre - programmed and ready to perform thermostat operations once they are: (a) correctly wired to the rooftop thermostat terminals, and: (b) connected to the remote room sensor located in the space served by the rooftop. The balance of the EMS system is not required to operate the DZCs. B. The Lighting Control Panels (LCPs) are constructed with Normally Closed Contactors. The E.C. can wire the lighting circuits to the LCP(s) and the lights will operate without the balance of the EMS system installed. C. Upon completion of the installation of the EMS system and prior to Club opening (2 weeks minimum) the Contractor shall contact the EMS provider and request the EMS commissioning crew. The EMS provider shall dispatch a crew to arrive onsite within 5 working days of the request. Other Automatic Controls: A. Special MFG. supplied controls such as rooftop humidistats and Pool Energy Recovery controls are not part of the EMS system. Refer to the Contract Drawings and Specifications for installation responsibilities. All EMS devices are in addition" to the MFG. supplied controls and should not be construed as replacement of same unless otherwise noted. B. EF interlocks are not part of the EMS system. Refer to the Contract Drawings and Specifications for installation responsibilities. C. EMS installation support is available via phone from 8AM to 5PM CST.
