Dear Building Official,
I am requesting an extension on the building permit identified above. My employer did
not allow me to take sufficient leave during favorable weather, and I had to keep work in
progress under cover to protect it from the rain this winter. I have received approval
from my supervisor to take six weeks of leave beginning the middle of July. By using
this time, plus any dry weekends in the interim, I should be able to make final inspection
by the end of summer.
Please note, I recently returned fro
extension of my electrical pe

previous inspection, I was instructed that inspectors would not return for a separate
rough -in (as this was pertaining to work done in the attic) and that the attic inspection
would have to occur at final inspection. I understand Tukwila's current revenue issues,
and I don't mind paying for additional permits if that is the only option to see this project
through. The permit costs are only a drop in the bucket compared to the tens of
thousands of dollars I have had to spend to properly correct the shoddy construction of
the original structure.
I would appreciate an extension on the permit to allow time for this work.

Electrical Permit No. EL07 -369
Clingman Residence — 3720 S 130 St
Dear Mr. Clingman:
This letter is in response to your written request for an extension to Permit Number EL07 -369.
The Building Official has reviewed your letter and considered your request to extend the above
referenced permit. The determination has been made that no extension will be granted at this
time. The permit will expire on January 30, 2010 unless an inspection is conducted.
Please note that this permit still has both a rough -in and fmal inspection remaining. The rough -in
inspection conducted on August 3, 2009 was only a partial approval. An inspection or both
inspections must be called for before the expiration date or the permit will expire and a new
permit will be required for this scope of work.
If you should have any questions, please contact our office at (206) 431 -3670.

RE: Permit No. EL07 -369
3720 South 130th Street
Dear Building Official,
I am requesting an extension on the electrical permit identified above. I have been
researching to try to identify the best solution to improve the sill - to-anchor bolt
connections on my structure because the original builder set the anchor bolts too deep
into the foundation and left very few bolt threads exposed above the sill in many
instances. Although the original inspectors were comfortable with this, I believe it would
be a worthwhile improvement to be able to add plates and washers, or some other suitable
method to reinforce the sill connection to the foundation. In the meantime, I cannot
install the drywall that will need to be in place prior to the final electrical inspection. I
would appreciate an extension on the permit to allow time for this work.

Dear Permit Holder:
In reviewing our current records the above noted permit has not received a fmal inspection by the City of Tukwila Building Division.
Per the International Codes, Uniform Plumbing/Fuel Gas Code and/or the National Electrical Code, every permit issued by the
Building Division under the provisions of the code shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work

authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, you are hereby advised to:
Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206 - 431 -2451 to schedule for the next or fmal inspection.
This inspection is intended to determine if substantial work has been accomplished since issuance of the permit or last inspection; or if
the project should be considered abandoned.
If such determination is made, the International Codes, Uniform Plumbing/Fuel Gas Code and/or the National Electrical Code does
allow the Building Official to approve one extension of time for an additional period not exceeding 180 days. Extension requests
must be in writing and provide satisfactory reasons why circumstances beyond the applicants control have prevented action from
being taken.
In the event you do not call for the above inspection and receive an extension prior to 08/13/2008 , your permit will become null and
void and any further work on the project will require a new permit application and associated fees.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
