Specifications: Model SC
GENERAL: Rolling service doors shall be as manufactured by
Windsor Door Company, Uttle Rock, Arkansas.
WORK NOT INCLUDED: Preparation of opening, steel jambs, struc-
tural work, miscellaneous Iron work, electrical wiring and field painting.
CURTAIN: Shall be made from interlocking curved slats, roll - formed
from steel, hot - process galvanized, with high-grade pure zinc coating
per ASTM Standard. Slats to be a minimum of 23/4" in height and a
crown depth of 7 /e ". Both ends of alternate slats shall be fitted with
endlocks. Windlocks shall be provided on both ends of every 6th
slat for doors 1743" or wider. Bottom of curtain to be reinforced
with a T- shaped aluminum extrusion on doors to 15' -4" in width
and 2 steel angles bolted back -to -back for larger doors. The bot-
tom edge of door shall have a vinyl weatherseal of tubular shape.
GUIDES: Guides and wall angles shall be steel of sufficient dimen-
sion to properly retain curtain and support the entire door assembly.
All fasteners shall be 3h" bolts minimum 30" on center.
BRACKETS: Shall be of heavy steel plate properly reinforced to carry
full door weight and support barrel and curtain at each end. Sealed
ball bearings shall be fumished at all rotating support points. Brack-
ets to be attached to guide wall angle of door with a minimum of (3)
th" bolts.
COUNTERBALANCE ASSEMBLY: Curtain to wrap on pipe of suffi-
cient size so deflection of barrel with weight of curtain does not ex-
ceed .03" per ft. of door width. Springs shall be oil - tempered, helical -
wound torsion springs, stress-relieved after coiling. Springs shall be
attached to cold-rolled steel shaft of sufficient size to carry Toad of
curtain and torque of springs. Springs to transmit torque to barrel
through steel on cast plugs sized to fit pipe. Sealed ball bearings shall
be located at rotating support points of barrel.Spring adjusting wheel
shall be readily accessible.
HOOD: Shall be made from 24 -gauge galvanized steel, roll- formed
to fit the contour of the end brackets. Top and bottom edges rein-
forced with continuous galvanized steel angles welded to hood.
OPERATION:
A. Manual push up on doors through 7,4" in height and a maximum
of 70 sq. ft.
B. Chain hoist standard on doors larger than push up sizes. Hand
chain pull not to exceed 35 pounds.
C. Motor operation — See page 16.
D. Hand Crank — fixed or removable.
LOCKING: Doors shall be equipped for locking by padlock from coil
side on manual, chain or crank operated doors. Motor operated
doors shall be locked by magnetic brake.
FINISH: Curtain and hood galvanized and phosphate - treated for
paint adherence. All other surfaces to have one shop coat of rust -
inhibitive primer.

• Prime Finish— Curtain may be supplied with rust -
inhibitive factory - applied grey prime finish, ready for
field painting. Hood also available with primer finish.
• Hood Weatherstripping — Optional full -width
corded neoprene hood - baffle seals against slats
when door is closed.
• Pass Doors — Steel pass doors are available with
cylinder lockset. Pass door frame is hinged to rolling
door guide. Entire frame and pass door swing clear
when curtain is raised.
• Through -Wall Operation — Available for doors
operated by motor, chain hoist, or crank.
• Cylinder Lodes — Can be provided on either right
or left side guides. Locks available with or without
cylinder.
• Sensing Bottom Bar — Weatherseal bar automatic-
ally stops or reverses motor operator when door
meets obstruction.
• Sloping Bottom Bar — Compensates for sloping sill
to provide complete closure.
• dear Coven — Available for both inside - mounted
and outside - mounted doors. (Recommended for
outside-mounted doors.)
