Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114. 2. Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. (UFC 12.104b) 3. EXIT signs shall be installed at required exit doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of a contrasting color with the surrounding area and shall have letters not less than six inches high with a minimum letter width of 3/4 ". (UFC 12.114a & 12.114b) 4. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas. (NFPA 13, 4- 1.1.1) All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the written approval of the Washington Surveying & Rating Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department.
