The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B :C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1 and UFC 10.3O1b) 2. Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 ft. above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9) 3. EXIT signs shall be installed at required exit doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly indicate the direction of egress. Starter — 8'0" L x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. Only one required in each installation. 2. Adder Length — 8'0" L x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. One required for every 8'0" of length. 3. Adder Width — 8'0" x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. One required for every 10'6" in width. 6 4. Adder Length and Width — 8'0" L x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. Fills in all modules between adder lengths and adder widths. The dimensions of 8'0" x 10'6" were chosen only after examining many com- binations to determine the most com- patable combination with common building column spacing. All com- ponents are engineered with minimal tolerances to assure a structurally sound mezzanine with a minimum effort in assembly and installation. • Floor loading is 125 lbs. per square foot with a maximum allowable deflec- tion of L/270. The mezzanine is free standing and offers minimal obstruc- tions when compared with other rack supported mezzanine systems. Column loading and bearing plates are designed so the 810 Clerespan can be used on standard concrete floors found in plants and warehouses throughout the United States. Post extensions are designed to slip fit into columns. Handrails use a pronged connector to engage with the post ex- tension. Optional expanded metal or wire mesh railings slide into channels attached to the post extensions and secure using 4 nuts and bolts per section. Handrails are 42" high with an inter- mediate rail at 21" and a 4" high kick plate prevents loose pieces from being accidently kicked off the mezzanine. The system of flooring, be it plank grating, bar grating, or wood determines the number and spacing of secondary beams for Toad and deflection purposes. Numbers under mezzanine length from 1 to 15 represents the number of bays (8' -0 long) in the length direction. The numbers under the mezzanine width from 1 to 10 represents the number of bays (10'- 6'wide) in the width direction. The numbers directly below the bay numbers are out to out dimensions of the structure, excluding stairs and stair landing. Information shown in the blocks 0 indicate the square footage of the structure and the type of module required. EXAMPLE — A Given: Space available is 60' -0 long by 60' -0 wide. The chart indicates a structure 7 bays long (56' -3 ") by 5 bays wide (53' -0 ") not including stairs and landings. The mezzanine selected has an area of 2940 square feet. No tools required for installation. I -beam is 6" deep and offers space sav- ing "low profile" for maximum under clearance. PLANK & BAR GRATING — Supported by the secondary I- beams. Unique patented I -beam members support the floor system and are attached to the flanges of the I -beams without the need of any power tools. Only tool re- quired is a socket set or wrench. SECONDARY BEAM — Made from cold formed I -beam section with connectors on each end which allows the beam to simply be dropped into place without the use of tools or attaching hardware. The I -beam is 6" deep with 23" wide horizontal flanges. POST EXTENSION AND HANDRAIL — To allow for quick erection and /or ease of relocation for expansion of the mez- zanine structure, post extensions (handrails attach to) and the handrail system, have been designed to connect without the use of tools. The stair land- ing handrails do require tools for attach- ment. Starter — 8'0" L x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. Only one required in each installation. 2. Adder Length — 8'0" L x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. One required for every 8'0" of length. 3. Adder Width — 8'0" x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. One required for every 10'6" in width. 4. Adder Length and Width — 8'0" L x 10'6" D x 8'0" H module. Fills in all modules between adder lengths and adder widths. The dimensions of 8'0" x 10'6" were chosen only after examining many com- binations to determine the most com- putable combination with common building column spacing. All com- ponents are engineered with minimal tolerances to assure a structurally sound mezzanine with a minimum effort in assembly and installation, Floor loading is 125 lbs. per square foot with a maximum allowable deflec- tion of L/270. The mezzanine is free standing and offers minimal obstruc- tions when compared with other rack supported mezzanine systems. Column loading and bearing plates are designed so the 810 Clerespan can be used on standard concrete floors found in plants and warehouses throughout the United States. Post extensions are designed to slip fit into columns. Handrails use a pronged connector to engage with the post ex- tension. Optional expanded metal or wire mesh railings slide into channels attached to the post extensions and secure using 4 nuts and bolts per section. Handrails are 42" high with an inter- mediate rail at 21" and a 4" high kick plate prevents loose pieces from being accidently kicked off the mezzanine.
