Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas. (NFPA 13, 4- 1.1.1) All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the written approval of the Washington Surveying & Rating Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. Gentlemen: 2.9-A"--.--0/- L-(7 32- In accordance with your request, we have performed a seismic load analysis of the subject storage racks. This effort included the calculations enclosed with this letter, several visits to measure the existing storage racks, and procuring information from the rack manufacturer's local representative. The storage racks which are proposed to be used at the new E.C. Miller facility at 220 Andover Park East are currently located in their existing warehouse at 1228 Andover Park East. The racks are comprised of supporting columns and shelf beams. The columns and beams are constructed from cold - formed steel shapes and are oriented as shown on sheet 5 of the enclosed calculations. The manufacturer is identified by the word "Interlake," stamped on the individual pieces of the storage rack assembly. These racks are distributed locally by Northern Steel Material Handling Specialists. Expansion anchors must attach the base of each column to the concrete floor slab. These expansion anchors are to be 1/2" diameter "Super Kwik- Bolts" or equal with 3 -1/4" of embedment. The installation of these expansion anchors is to be done under "Special Inspection" as defined by the local building official. 2. The carpet storage racks are to be reassembled with the columns and shelf beams in the same orientation as existed prior to disassembly. This orientation is shown on sheet 5 of the enclosed calculations. 3. One or more permanent signs, measuring not less than 50 square inches in area and showing the maximum shelf beam loading to be 40 pounds per lineal foot, must be placed in one or more conspicuous locations near the storage racks. 4.
