Completely factory assembled and tested, piped, internally wired, fully charged with R -22, compressor oil and shipped in one piece. Units avail- able for direct expansion cooling only. Filters, outside air system, ex- haust air system, and nonfused dis- connect switches and all operating and safety controls furnished factory installed. All units factory run tested. Cooling capacity rated in accordance with ARI Standard 360. All units have decals and tags to aid in service and indicate caution areas. Electrical dia- grams on long life water resistant ma- terial ship attached to control panel door. CASING: Exterior panels have a minimum of 1.25 -ounce zinc coating per square foot of steel, phosphatized, and fin- ished with gray green water born fin- ish. Screws are coated with zinc -plus- zinc chromate. Compressor acces- sible through removable panels as standard. Unit control panel acces- sible through hinged access panel with quick release latches. Hinged access doors with quick release latches provide access to filters, re- turn/exhaust air, and supply fan sec- tion and refrigeration components. All access doors and panels have neoprene gaskets. Interior surfaces or exterior casing members in con- tact with airstream have one inch mat -faced fiberglass insulation. One piece roof assembly has modified lock seam joints filled with sealant over all but condenser section. Drains provided on each side of the con- denser section. Unit base is water- tight with 14 gauge formed load bear- ing members, formed recess with factory installed flexible base -to -roof curb sealing gasketing and curb over- hang. Unit lifting lugs accept chains or cables for rigging. Lifting lugs can also serve as unit tiedown points. 4 REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Compressor: Trane Model R semi - hermetic recip- rocating compressor direct drive, 1750 rpm, with isolated mounting, positive displacement oil pump, oil filter screen and magnetic disks, oil level sight glass, oil charging valve, two point lubrication for each con- necting rod bearing, crankcase heat- er, double mesh suction inlet screen, high strength nonflexing ring type suction and discharge valves, large gas passages and minimum clear- ance volumes, electric actuated un- loading, replaceable unloader sole- noid valves, and suction and discharge valves. Motor is suction gas cooled and has voltage utilization range plus or minus 10 percent of nameplate voltages. Three motor winding temperature sensors protect against excessive winding tem- peratures. Safety controls include high and low pressure cutouts, low oil pressure cutouts, nonrecycling pumpdown and reset relay. Evaporator Coil: Seamless copper tubing of 112 -inch O.D. mechanically bonded to heavy duty aluminum fins of configurated design. All coils are dual circuited with independent thermal expansion valves, Factory pressure and leak tested at 300 psi. Condenser Coil: Configurated aluminum fin second- ary surface mechanically bonded to primary surface of 318 -inch O.D. seamless copper tubing. Subcooling circuits with liquid accumulators standard. Factory tested at 450 psig air pressure. Vacuum dehydrated. Condenser Fans and Motors Vertical discharge, direct drive fans, statically and dynamically balanced with steel blades and zinc plated steel hubs. Three -phase motors with per- manently lubricated ball bearings, built -in current and thermal overload protection, and weathertight stingers over bearings. AIR HANDLING SYSTEM Supply Fan: Two independent fan assemblies with double inlet, forward curved fan, inlet guide vanes, motor and adjust- able sheave drive. All fans statically and dynamically balanced and tested in factory. Supply fans test run in unit as part of unit test. Unit reaches rated rpm before fan shaft passes through first critical speed. Fan shafts moun- ted on two grease lubricated ball bearings designed for 200,000 hours average life. Fan motor and fan as- sembly mounted on common base to allow consistent belt tension with no relative motion between fan and motor shafts. Entire assemblies com- pletely isolated from unit and fan board by spring isolators. Filters: General — Filters mount integral within unit and are accessible by hinged access doors. ACCESSORIES ❑ Throwaway Filter Two -inch thick throwaway glass fiber filter. ❑ Exhaust Fan Modulating 100 percent fan — Two, double inlet, forward curved fans mounted on common shaft with ad- justable sheave drive. All fans stat- ically and dynamically balanced and tested in factory. Exhaust fan test run in unit as part of unit test. Unit reaches rated rpm before fan shaft passes through first critical speed. Fan shaft mounted on two grease lu- bricated ball bearings designed for 200,000 -hour average life. Fan motor and assembly mounted on common base to allow consistent belt tension with no relative motion between fan and motor shafts. Entire assembly completely isolated from unit and fan board by spring isolators. Discharge dampers at unit outlet modulate ex- haust airflow in response to building pressure. Statitrac — Direct space pressurization control is standard when ordering 100 percent modu- lating exhaust fan. ❑ Outside Air Economizer Cycle — Operated through the primary temperature controls to automatically utilize out- door air for free cooling. Auto- matically modulated return and out- door air dampers maintain proper temperature into the conditioned space. Equipped with an automatic lockout when the outdoor enthalpy temperature is too high for proper cooling. Adjustable minimum posi- tion control is standard and located on the damper motor. A spring return motor ensures closure of outdoor air dampers during unit shutdown or power interruption. Low -leak econo- mizer dampers are standard with a leakage rate of 2.5 percent of nominal airflow (400 cfm/ton) @ 1 inch wg. static pressure. Q ROOF MOUNTING CURB Fourteen gauge zinc coated steel with nominal two inch by two inch nailer setup. Supply /return air opening gas - keting provided. Ships knocked down for easy assembly. Curb manu- factured to National Roofing Con- tractors Association guidelines. ROOFTOP/VAV CONTROLS 0 Electronic Supply Air Control Control components include supply air sensor and supply air controller factory mounted in unit. Adjustable outdoor air or zone reset increases supply air setpoint as outdoor air temperature decreases. Anti - recycle control provided between all stages of unloading. Hot gas bypass pro- vided for protection against coil frost at low suction temperature. ❑ Inlet Vanes Operated by aluminum center rotat- ing ball bearingg hub located out of fan inlet. Inlet vanes are 14 gauge steel, welded to vane rods and have edges to form fit to inlet cone circum- ference. Inlet vane rods are offset for rotation out of fan inlet. Factory sup- plied static pressure sensor con- tinuously monitors control supply air duct pressure. Assembly complete with tubing, static pressure regulator and inlet vane actuator. ❑ Night Setback and Monitoring Panel Panel provides up to 18 user selected operations for night setback and normal operation. Setback mode en- ergizes the night setback thermostat and locks out unit cooling function. Normal mode allows normal cooling operation. Module provided with seven day programmable time clock with auxiliary battery power supply. The module is powered by 24 volts AC from the air conditioning unit. Panel signal lights include: fan oper- ation, heating malfunction, refrig- eration malfunction, and dirty filters. ❑ Morning Warmup Thermostat Thermostat controls morning warmup function of VAV rooftop units. Morning warmup thermostat must be satisfied before control is re- turned to cooling unit. ❑ System Optimization Interface Module Module mounted in control panel with 5 relays wired to a terminal strip in the low voltage customer con- nection section of the control panel for easy interface with a building management control panel. When energized, these relays will: turn the rooftop off; close outside air damper, disable power exhaust, open inlet vanes, open VAV boxes and enable heat during Night Setback and Morn- ing Warmup; close outside air damp- ers except when in economizer mode; unload compressors, unload electric heat; shut off compressors, turn off electric heat.
