This letter accompanies this latest set of calculations evaluating
the Produce Cooler, Meat Preparation Cooler, Meat Cooler, Fish
Cooler and Bakery Cooler. The coolers were analyzed to determine
their adequacy only in resisting vertical gravity loads due to self
weight plus mechanical units. Sine these coolers contain minor
amounts, if any glass, it is felt they can adequately resist lateral
loads by acting as a box system assuming no additional loadsother
than those already shown (i.e. the mechanical units) are applied.
1. The produce cooler requires no additional work assuming
a maximum of 2 -227# units or 1 -40011 unit shall be applied
to each' 13' panel span, Also, it must be verified that
three of the four bearing points of the 9004 unit are
directly over the roof to wall connection.
2. The Meat Preparation Cooler requires some retrofit. See
accompanieg sheet S -1, Also, it must be verified that no
more than one 1750 unit is applied to each of the roof
. panels which span 12'.
3. The Pleat Cooler requires no retrofit assuming the 9000
unit is supported in the same manner as in 1. above.
4. The Fish Cooler requires no retrofit.
5. The Bakery Cooler requires no retrofit.
In general, for all the coolers which possess exterior beams, it must
be verifier.) that the end of the beam rests on an L4x4x3 /8x4'0" in
order to distribute the load properly. This requirement may be
