NOTES 1. General contractor, using on -site topsoil, shall provide rough grade In o1l landscap- ing areas to plus or minus two - tenths . of one -foot, below finished grade. Grade shall allow for proper drainage and be free of all debris. Undesirable material over 2" in diameter shall be removed by the general contractor. 2. in the event the quantity of on -site topsoil is not adequate to cover all the landscape areas, the genera! contractor shall provide rough grade in all landscape areas to plus or minus two - tenths of one -foot, 4" below finished grade 3. Landscape contractor shall be respofisible -for finish grading and soil preparation (see Note 12). . 4. Plant quantities shown are estimates only for the convenience of the contractor.• Areas shown will be planted at required coverage. Quantity of plants required may vary from estimate. • 5. Planes located on the plan are schematic and may need to be adjusted to actual field conditions. When a conflict with field coiditioes is apparent, contractor shall notify owners representative. 6. All plants shall be set at such a level that the top of the root ball shall be 1 -2" above the surrounding soil level. Each plant shall be set plumb and straight, and be adjusted to conform and align with surrounding plants. 7. Apply 2" ininimum depth of bark mulch to all shrub bebs, groundcover areas, and tree wells (see Note 10). Hark Mulch: Hemlock, medium grind, 3/4" minus size, as supplied by Sawdust Supply, Seattle, Washington, or approved equal. 8. Prior to mulching, landscape contractor shall apply pre - emergent herbicide in accord with manufacturers recommended application rate. 9. Trees shall be staked with pew uniform stained fir, 2" x 2" x 7', free of knotholes and other defects. Contractor shall provide "Chainlok" tree ties. 10. All trees located in turf areas shall have a, 2' - 0" diameter tree ring. The tree shall be located in the center and a clean turf edge provided. 11. Landscape contractor shall maintain all landscape areas until project is complete and accepted by owner. 12. It is anticipated that sufficient quantities of topsoil material are currently on -site. In the event the quantity is insufficient, it she be the responsibility of the landscape contractor to provide a 4" minimum depth of 3 -way topsoil rnix for all landscape areas.
