piping).

Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. This review limited to speculative tenant space only -
special fire permits may be necessary depending on detailed
description of intended use.
2. The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for
each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be
of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type.
Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or
less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1 and UFC 10.301b)
Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in
the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on
shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so
that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5
ft. above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9)
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain
view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view,
they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire
Extinguisher ", with an arrow pointing to the unit.

3. Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.

EXIT signs shall be installed at required exit
doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly
indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of a
contrasting color with the surrounding area and shall
have letters not less than six inches high with a
minimum letter width of 3/4 ". (UFC 12.114a & 12.114b)
4. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas.
(NFPA 13, 4- 1.1.1)
All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the
written approval of the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. No
sprinkler work shall commence without approved
drawings. (City Ordinance #1141 & NFPA 13, 1 -9.1)
5. Your street address must be conspicuously posted on
the building and shall be plainly visible and legible from
the street. Numbers shall contrast with their background.

6. All required occupancy separations, area separation
walls, and draft -stop partitions shall be maintained and
shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when
damaged, altered, breached, penetrated, removed or

Back Draft Damper
Model Type C Back Dra per is a square multi -leaf felt
edge spring loaded-aUtomatic damper for exhaust service.
----Available-in-sizes from 8" x 8" to 48" x 48 ", Optionally
available motorized for 115, 208, 230 or 460 volt service.
See fan dimensional data for recommended Type C
Damper size.
Model SUP Type C Supply Damper is a square flangeless
multi -leaf felt edge spring load automatic damper for supply
service. Available in sizes from 10" x 10" thru 26" x 26" for
use with ARS Series Supply Fans. Optionally available
motorized for 115, 208, 230 or 460 volt service. See ARS
dimensional data for recommended SUP Type C Damper size.
Birdguard
Mesh birdguard of galvanized steel is available for all BTD
Models. Epoxy coated steel birdguard is available for all CR,
CW, and AR Models.
Disconnect Switch
Located inside motor compartment, a disconnect switch
insures safety when unit is being serviced.
Note: When explosion resistant disconnect is requested,
Jenn Industries does not mount or wire disconnect
switch due to varying local code requirements.
Belt Tightener
Jenn -Air's unique automatic spring loaded belt tightener
insures the proper belt tension which reduces belt wear and
maintains constant air delivery and fan RPM. This accessory
is available on most size BRTD and BTD Models.
Coatings
Choice of anticondensate, alkyd enamel or three coat baked
epoxy. Epoxy coatings are available for added protection
against acids and alkalis as described in chemical resistance
chart #40 -114B. In addition to the listed coatings, units
may be painted in a wide range of standard colors. Color
chart available upon request.
Curb Hinge Arrangement
Provides easy access to automatic or motorized back draft
damper and is available for all CR, AR, BRTD, and BTD
Models.

SCR Control
An SCR solid state speed control is available for use on CR,
CW, and AR models as noted. This control affords variable
adjustment of the motor speed range from full speed to
approximately 60% of full speed. Control range will vary
depending on the specific unit - controller combination and
available line voltages.
Fire Stat
Fire stats are available with a temperature sensing control
to disconnect power to the fan if exhaust air temperature
exceeds a preset rating. These are manual reset type fire
stats available for single phase through 1 HP Fans larger
than 1 HP single phase and all three phase fans must be
connected through a magnetic starter for use with a fire stet.
Fire stats are available on all BRTD, BTD, CR, CW, and AR
Models except the 7" and 8" CW Models.
JENN INDUSTRIES WARRANTY
JENN INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED warrants this
equipment to be free from defects in material and work-
manship under normal use and service for a period of
one (1) year from date of purchase.
Any units or parts which our inspection shall show to be
defective within this period will be repaired or replaced
at our option when returned to our factory, transporta-
tion charges prepaid. The replacement part assumes
the unused portion of this warranty.
Motor Service: Should the motor itself prove defective
within one (1) year from the date of purchase, it should
be returned, transportation charges prepaid, to the
nearest authorized motor service station.
This warranty does not include the cost of labor or other
costs incurred for diagnosis, repairing, removing, in-
stalling, shipping, servicing, or handling of either defec-
tive parts or replacement parts, nor does it cover any
adjustments or service calls.

DESCRIPTION
DURAL 1004 is a protective coating used for chem-
ical protection and waterproofing of steel, alumi-
num, concrete, wood, and other structural mate-
rials. It is a two - component non - yellowing
polyurethane system, available in clear or pig-
mented form.
DURAL 1004 PRIMER is recommended prior to the
use of DURAL 1004 for aircraft and equipment
applications as well as application on metal in gen-
eral. DURAL 1004 PRIMER is a two- component
epoxy zinc chromate primer.

USE INSTRUCTIONS
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces should be free of dirt, oil, grease, and
other contaminants or coatings which might inter-
fere with the proper adhesion.
CONCRETE: Remove oil and grease with a deter-
gent followed by thorough wiping and drying.
WOOD: Remove coating and finishes by
thoroughly sanding.
STEEL: Remove grease and oil; then, sandblast.
COVERAGE PER COAT
CONCRETE 250 -400 sq. ft. /gal.
METAL 300 -500 sq. ft. /gal.
CAUTION
TOXIC BEFORE CURE. AVOID INHALATION
AND CONTACT TO SKIN & EYES.
APPLICATION OF PRIMER
DURAL 1004 CONCRETE PRIMER: Stir Part A
and Part B separately. Combine one volume of
Part A, Base, and one volume of Part B, Hardener.
Mix thoroughly, preferably with low -speed electric
drill for at least three (3) minutes. Be certain to .
scrape bottom and sides of container. Allow 30
to 40 minutes before using. Apply with brush,
roller or spray at the rate of 200 -250 square feet
per gallon. Coverage will vary depending upon
the substrate.
NOTE: For steel surfaces, specify DURAL 1004
Zinc Chromate Primer.
APPLICATION OF BASE COAT
DURAL 1004: Stir thoroughly Part A and Part B
separately. Combine one part by volume of Part
A, Base, with two parts by volume of Part B,
Hardener.
Mix thoroughly, preferably with low -speed electric
drill for at least three (3) minutes. Be certain to
scrape bottom and sides of containers. Apply
bass coat after primer is dry to touch, but not
later than 24 hours. Apply with brush, roller, or
airless spray. For best results, it is recommended
that two coats be applied.
