Job No. 8710 -193) Dear Tony: Inspection of the Storage Rack sketches revealed two basic geometries and loadings. These situations are illustrated on pages 1 and 4 of the Seismic Analysis and the calculations were performed based on these geometries and loadings. Under these conditions, the Storage Racks were found to be stable with the addition of expansion anchors and footplates as recommended on pages 3 and 6 of the calculations at each leg of every rack. This method of bolting will accept a resisting force deemed adequate per the 1985 UBC Standard for seismic loading with respect to overturning. If you have any questions, please contact me.
