Box 80326 Seattle, Washington 98108 206/762 -4750 Yes, the construction of the new tenant separation wall to be constructed for the new Evans Music store shall eliminate access to the existing rear exit door to the two showrooms north of the newly relocated music store. The affected showroom spaces are the old /present Evans Music space and the northerly portion of space formerly occupied by Brass Bell. We anticipate this shall not be a problem. Schoenfeld's Furniture will be expanding into the two areas and shall remove portions of the existing separating walls. By incorporating these areas into the larger store, the existing storefront doors at the west side /front of the building will then provide the exiting required. Schoenfeld Furniture, who is undertaking the design and tenant improvements for the expansion, shall be responsible to design and open up the areas so that the exiting from the expanded showroom complies with the code. In any event, neither showroom shall be occupied "as is" with only one exit. Should anticipated plans change, the Trammell. Crow Company will undertake modifications to the two showroom spaces so that two required exits shall be provided from each prior to occupancy of those spaces. Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA .10, 3 -1.1 and UFC 10.301b) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or. set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not mor.e•than 5 ft. above the floor.. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9) Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire Extinguisher ", with an arrow pointing to the unit.
