Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. * ** FIRE EXTINGUISHERS * ** - UFC Article 10 and NFPA
10
Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout.
2. * ** EXITS * ** - UFC Article 12
Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
3. * ** SPRINKLER SYSTEMS * ** - UFC ARTICLE 10 - NFPA 13
All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the
written approval of the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Fire Department. No sprinkler
work shall commence without approved drawings. (City
Ordinance #1141) (NFPA 13, 1 -9.1) CUFC 10.307)
4. * ** BUILDING CONSTRUCTION * ** - (UFC, UBC)
If the building is to be used for the storage of
high -piled combustible material (as defined in UFC,
Sec. 9.110); automatic fire - extinguishing systems,
smoke - removal systems, fire protection and fire
separations are required per Uniform Fire Code -
Article 81.

36" racking will have seismic footplates attached by certified welder.
44" racking will have appropriate footplates as per specifications.
Class 5 storage will have curtain of non - combustible material 6'
from ceiling as per conversation with Mr.Ray, Tukwila Fire Dept.
All aisle space around Class 5 storage will measure at least 8'.
Height of Class 5 storage will conform to NFPA 231D, Figure 4 -1.2.
For further information please contact Mr.John Dunn at Norco USA.
Newly constructed racking will arrive 3/10/88, we appreciate any
expediting of the permit to enable installation as soon as possible.

(R.E. Job No. 8710 -193)
Dear Tony:
Inspection of the Storage Rack sketches revealed tvo basic geometries
and loadings. These situations are illustrated on pages 1 and 4 of the
Seismic Analysis and the calculations were performed based on these
geometries and loadings.
Under these conditions, the Storage Racks ware found to be stable
with the addition of expansion anchors and footplates as recommended
on pages 3 and 6 of the calculations at each leg of every rack. This
method of bolting will accept a resisting force deemed adequate per
the 1985 UBC Standard for seismic loading with respect to overturning.

Wedge Anchors
FEATURES
Hole size = bolt size —Ideal when work being
attached is drilled while in position, and drilling continues
into the concrete, eliminating the need for templates and
double handling.
One plece wrap- around expansion sleeve — Provides
true 360° hole contact for greater reliability. The large
expansion sleeve area also reduces concrete unit stress.
Works in bottomless hole —The bottom of the hole is
not needed to set the anchor. In most applications, the
, anchor is set as the object is fastened in place.
Supplied as a complete unit —Nuts and washers are
packaged with each box of TruBolt anchors to simplify

- installation and reduce inventories. •
INSTALLATION
Hole is to be drilled the same diameter as anchor, to any
depth equal to or greater than the required embedment, using
carbide - tipped drill bits conforming to tip diameter tolerances of
ANSI B94, 12-77.
