THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS APPLY TO AND BECOME PART OF THE APPROVED PLANS UNDER
TUKWILA BUILDING PERMIT NUMBER Vii;?
1. No changes will be made to plans unless approved by an Architect and the
City of Tukwila Building Department.
2. Plumbing permit to be obtained through King County Health Department and
plumbing will be inspected by that agency (including all gas piping).
3. Electrical work to be inspected by State Electrical Inspectors and all
required electrical permits obtained through that agency.
4. All mechanical work to be under separate permit.
5. All permits to be posted at job site prior to start of any construction.
6. Engineered truss drawings and calculations shall be on site and
available to Building Inspector for inspection purposes.
7. Any exposed insulation backing material to have Flame Spread Rating of
25 or less.
8. Subgrade preparation including drainage, excavation, compaction, and
fill requirements shall conform strictly with recommendations given in
the soils report or as directed by the soils engineer.
9. All construction to be done in conformance with approved plans and
requirements of the Uniform Building Code (1985 Edition), Uniform
Mechanical Code (1985 Edition), Washington State Energy Code (1986
Edition), and Washington State Regulations for Barrier Free Facilities
(1986 Edition).
10. Site and footing excavations to be inspected and approved by soils
engineer prior to placement of concrete. One copy of soil engineer's
report documenting site findings and approval for placement of concrete
shall be left on site for building inspectors use and one copy forwarded
to Tukwila Building Division for file. In addition, an inspection by
soils engineer will be required after foundation has been constructed,
but prior to backfilling, to ensure installation of footing drains and
their tight -line connection to the storm drain as described in Earth
Consultants, Inc., letter E- 3473 -21, dated March 30, 1988. Two copies
of this report shall be forwarded to the Building Department prior to
the start of any framing on this house.

The Public Works Department has reviewed and approved the subject site plan
for the subject lot noted in the RE section of this letter per the following
comments and conditions:
Prior to picking up the drainage permit listed below, contact Becky Davis,
Permit Coordinator to have the permit prepared (433 - 1851). The Building
official and Planning Director shall approve the release of this permit.
Storm Drainage Permit (Permit Fee: $25.00)
The contractor shall refer to the approved soils opinion letter and referenced
reports on file in the City of Tukwila Building Division for foundation /drainage
recommendations, and such recommendations shall be followed unless otherwise
approved by the City of Tukwila Public Works Department.

the Silverview subdivision, I am enclosing all of the necessary documents associated with
this process. I would like to request that you review the enclosed plot plan, together
with the other enclosed documents, so that Mr. Denise Hansel of Hansel Construction,
can obtain a building permit for construction on this lot.
1 am aware that you would prefer to review plot plans for all of the houses
within this subdivision at one time, however, due to circumstances beyond our control,
we unfortunately are only able to submit as many applications for permits as we receive
plans from builders. Again, whenever possible I will attempt to submit plans in groups,
rather than on an individual basis in order to streamline the process of review. I thank

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTES AND SPECIFICATIONS
STORM DRAINAGE CONNECTION - SILVER VIEW
Contractor shall refer to the approved soils opinion letter and referenced reports on
file in the City of Tukwila Building Division for foundation /drainage recommenda-
tions, and such recommendations shall be followed unless otherwise approved by the
City of Tukwila Building Division.
2, All roof downspouts must be tightlined to the public storm drainage system. The
plot plan shows typical requirements which shall be adjusted based on actual
downspout locations.
3. All tightline shall be 4" I'VC, Schedule 35, unless otherwise noted. All 6" PVC as
noted shall be Schedule 35. (Note: 6" galvanized CMP or aluminum may be
substituted at contractor's option - 16 gage minimum required.)
4 Any tightline under the driveway shall be 16 gage galvanized CMP or aluminum:
No PVC under driveways shall be allowed.
5. Any bends in the tightline system shall be provided with clean -outs.
6. All pipe to be laid in Class "B" bedding unless otherwise approved.
7. Roof and footing drains shall not.be tied together, except at the system outfall
below the lowest point of the drain system; at which point both systems can be
tightlined together• into the approved public storm drainage system.

We have been retained by the owner of Lot 21 to provide an opinion
letter to your office as required in the SEPA conditions relative to
construction for the above - referenced project. We have conducted a
general site visit of the property, and have also reviewed the
amended report and supplemental report prepared by GeoEngineers,
Inc., dated, respectively, March 30, 1987 and June 1, 1987. These
reports summarize geotechnical considerations for development in
Silver View and include recommendations for foundation preparation,
site drainage, and other issues that are typically addressed as part
of a geotechnical analysis.
We have also reviewed the plot plan and house plan No. 120687
prepared by Crane Design, dated January 15, 1988, and submitted by
the owner of Lot 21 in Silver View, which we understand will be sub-
mitted to the City for a Building Permit. Based upon this review,
we conclude that the geotechnical recommendations and limitations
outlined in the referenced reports will be applicable to this
project, and if followed appropriately, should adequately address
the construction requirements for the project.
We recommend that footing drains be installed around all perimeter
footings and tightlined to the storm sewer, that foundations be
placed on competent native soils or on compacted structural fill,
and that all cuts be made in accordance with the referenced report
recommendations.

We estimate that approximately five feet of structural fill will be
required to develop the site as planned. The existing loose fill
located on the west side of the site can be used for structural fill
provided it can be compacted to 95 percent of its maximum dry
density, as determined by ASTM D- 1557 -78 (Modified Proctor).
Otherwise, the fill may be used in non -load bearing areas.
Structural fill placed under slabs and footings should be placed in
thin lifts not exceeding ten inches in loose thickness and should be
compacted to at least 95 percent maximum density. Structural fill
under slopes, pavements and walks should be placed in similar thin
lifts and compacted to at least 95 percent maximum density.
In order to verify that the site conditions are as anticipated in
the referenced geotechnical reports, we recommend that Earth
Consultants,.Inc. (ECI) be retained to examine the site and footing
excavations prior to placement of foundations.
If the plot plan or house plan should change from the current
submitted drawings, ECI should be requested to reevaluate the
suitability of the site for the proposed structure.
Our review recommendations and conclusions are professional opinions
derived in a manner consistent with that level of care and skill
ordinarily exercised by other members of the profession currently
practicing under similar conditions in this area. No warranty is
