Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout.
2. Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
(UFC 12.104b)
3. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas.
(NFPA 13, 4- 1.1.1) (UFC 10.302)
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies
licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall
first be approved by the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. No
sprinkler work shall commence without approved
drawings. (City Ordinance #1141 & NFPA 13, 1 -9.1)

4. All required occupancy separations, area separation
walls, and draft -stop partitions shall be maintained and

This easy to use system
gives fine line joints for
vinyl faced gypsumboard partitions
at a low cost.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
These Standard Stud Edge Clips are for con-
coaled progressive erection of vinyl faced or
other type prefinished gypsumboard. Install
clips 16" o.c. along board edges. Plumb boards
to line up on stud flange center lines. Fasten
board to floor track flange using sheet metal
crews. Rollform "Thin Head" needle point
sheet metal screws 3S" long can be used to
secure clips to stud flanges. Suitable "Grabber"
sheet metal crews may also be used to fasten
clips. Subsequent panels can be erected by
fastening clips to board edges with clips on one
edge slipping under edge of in -place panel and
then fastening panel at bottom before securing
exposed edge clips. Additional hole allows for
cutoff of tongue and use of remainder of clip
as a wall starter • no mould required.

Using 4' wide panels and a 9' wall height
approximately 7 clips are needed per 1.f. of wall.

We are offering a new Ceiling Channel in Metallic Bronze or
Black paint finish on galvanized steel. This Channel is offered
in.4 stock wall widths 3 -1/2 ", 3 -3/4 ", 4 -5/8 ", i 4 -7/8" to work
with 2 -1/2" and 3 -5/8" drywall studs.

steel studs. They will also fit our Demountable Partition Clip Studs.

Dear Ms. Fitzgerald:
In answer to your letter, dated October 3, 1988, I am reiterating
in writing our previous conversation regarding the reason why a
door cannot be installed to connect the two tenant spaces
currently occupied by Larry's Market.
The reason these two spaces cannot be connected is that by doing
so, you would increase the occupancy load of the area, as defined
by code, so that the space would require a minimum of two exits.
When two exists are required, the code also requires that the
exits be separated by half the diagonal of the area to be served.
This is covered by Section 3303, Uniform Building Code, 1985
Edition.
This problem was discussed in much detail with Mr. Mike Faulkner
when he submitted the plans for this project, and it was decided
at that time that because of the location of these tenant spaces
in the building, there was no economical way code requirements
could be met if these two spaces were connected. He told me he
had discussed the situation with representatives from Larry's
Market and they had all agreed that they would occupy the two
spaces with the understanding that the two spaces could not be
connected.
