They are for static loading only; no shocks, vibrations or other special conditions are considered. Posts are cut in exact 1' increments, so that post connectors and frame con- nector slots align correctly. SEE TABLE 1 ATTACHED Table 1 gives maximum allowable spacing between frame connectors and between the lowest set of frame connectors and the floor (see Fig. 1). Values are given for three classes of loads: A. Light Toads 3000 lbs. per Bay, bottom frame connectors must never be higher than 28" from floor. B. Medium loads 6000 lbs. per Bay, bottom frame connectors must never be higher than 20" from floor. C. Heavy loads 9000 lbs. per Bay, bottom frame connectors must never be higher than 12" from floor. NUMBER AND POSITION OF SHELF SUPPORTS & TIE BARS NOTE: Shelf supports and tie bars should always be used together to give Toad capacities stated in E -Z- Rect's Brochure. FUNCTION: The function of the TIE BAR is to stop the frame connectors from bending outward at the bottom. The function of the SHELF SUPPORT is to stop the frame connector from bending Inward at the top and in ad- dition it supports the particleboard, plywood and sectional shelves. NOTE: Tandem locks MUST be twisted and locked. DEPTH TO HEIGHT RATIO E -Z -Rect recommends a depth to height ratio of 1 to 4. For example: a 24" deep unit should be no more than 96" high without wall or cross aisle fixing. GENERAL A. Use 36" and 48" wide units if a Mezzanine or Catwalk is going to be installed. B. When laying out, allow 11/2' creepage for each end frame in the row and 1" creepage in depth for each end frame. C. Assembly time per 7 ft. frame: approximately 2 minutes. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less.
