Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114. Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. (UFC 12.104b) Exits shall be illuminated at any time the building is occupied. An emergency system shall automatically provide exit illumination upon failure of the main power supply. (UFC 12.113a) Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving an occupant load of 50 or more. (UBC 3303) (UFC 12.101) Illuminated EXIT signs are requirerd for exits serving 50 or more occupants. 2. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas. TRASH•', REMOVAL. All trash will be confined to the tenant space in which the worths being performed (or otherwise as directed by the Shopping Center Manager) and removed at the end of each and every day by the Contractor. Any trash found in the service corridors, truck dock, adjacent Tenant spaces, and/or public areas will be removed by the Shciiping Center Manager and billed to the Contractor at a rate of $50.00 per ran hour plus equipment costs. (Arty trash durnpster location must first receive the prior approval of the Shopping Center Manager.) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE THE SHOPPING CENTER TRASH COMPACTORS TO BE USED BY THE CONTRACTOR. 14. SPRINKLER SYSTEM. The Contractor must notify the Shopping Center Manager et. least 48 hours in advance of making any modification to the existing fire protection system(s). In the event the work requires a modification to the existing fire protection system, the Contractor shall be required to obtain the Owner's fire insurance underwriter's approval prior to performing s:)ch modification. To obtain approval, submit seven blueline prints of shop drawings to: Protection Mutual Insurance Co., 4000 Towne Center, Suite 380, Southfield, Michigan 48075 Attn: , and one additional blueline print to the Project Coordinator. After receiving Protection mutual's approval, forward one reproducible sepia of the approved design and two blueline prints bearirg the approval stamp to the Project Coordinator. The Contractor must notify the Shopping Center Manger at least 48 hours in advance prior to needing the Shopping Center's sprinkler system drained. No Shopping Center sprinkler system will be left drained over night. All systems will be charged and operational when workers leave for the night. J.
