Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) (UFC 10.301b) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinents, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 ft. above the floor. Interior gypsum wall board to be 5/8' Type X, use metal trim at all corners and edgings. Board to be screwed (not nailed.) 3. All glazing shall be safety glass in areas required by Uniform Building Code, and all other applicable codes. 4. Replace broken or damaged ceilin7, tiles with new tiles which match the existing ceiling. 5. Provide continuous 6" wide 26 GA sheet metal backing behind all wall - mounted casework and cabinets, top and bottom. 6. Plastic laminate work surfaces and cabinets shall be Wilsonart 'Fawn" $D309-8. 7. Submit 2 ea. 12 "x12" hardboard paint -out samples of paint color fur the Designer's approval prior to proceeding with the work or purchasing the paint, 8. Paint system shall be: a. Wall Partitions: Remove existing wallcovering and patch wall surface as required. Provide one coat latex primer (where existing wallcovering was reeroved, only) and two finish coats latex, satin sheen. b. Trim and Doors: Stain and varnish to match building standard in color, finish and quality. 9. Doors, hardware and relites shall match existing building standard unless noted otherwise. Wood door and relite frames to match existing'in'style, finish, color and appearance. 10. Contractor shall check'with building Omer regarding surplus availability of building standard items. 11. Remove exisiting carpet and,wood flooring. Prepare existing floor for a stretch installation of carpet over pad, Pad shall be "Hartex Contract" (by Harper Manufacturing), "Nova Cushion" or New Fiberloc II (by General Felt). Weight shall be 32 W. per square yd (sin.) Carpet shall be installed tackless with taped seams using Roberts Gold Heat Tape or approved equal. All transitions to existing VCT shall be done with an aluminum reducer strip. Taper pad around carpet transition to tile to ensure a saooth, gradual transition fro the tile to the new carpet over pad, 12.
