SUMMARY OF INSPECTION

Visually inspected the fillet welding of angle$ to beams and trusses at line
Z and columns 50 and 52 at bottom part of roof.
A piece of angle has been substituted for wood :at the location between the roof
and the I beam at each location. This was vei`baily approved by structural ;steel
engineer. The contractor, Algene, was told that the revision must be submitted
in writing by the engineer.

Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for
each 1,500 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher should be of
the "all purpose" (2A, 20 B :C) dry chemical type. The
travel distance to any extinguisher must be 75' or less.
(NFPA 10,3 -1.1) (UFC 10.301)
Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in
the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinents, or set on
shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so
that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5
ft. above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6) (UFC 10.301)
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain
view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view,
they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire
Extinguisher," with an arrow pointing to the unit.
(NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC 10.301)
2. Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.

3. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas.

Provide sprinkler protection under the observation
platform.
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies
licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall
first be approved by the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. No
sprinkler work shall commence without approved
drawings. (City Ordinance *1141 & NFPA 13, 1 -9.1)

Sprinkler protection must be provided for combustibles
and ignition sources located above the ceiling.
4. All required occupancy separations, area separation
walls, and draft-stop partitions shall be maintained and
shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when
damaged, altered, breached, penetrated, removed or
improperly installed. (UFC 10.401)
All wall and ceiling materials constructed of wood,
shall be fire retardant treated. (UFC 10.401)

4. All new mechanical cooling equipment shall incorporate a manu-
factured installed (Qr a field installed) time delay device to
prevent the short cycling of the mechanical cooling equipment.
5. HVAC equipment shall be of a quality equal to or better than
Carrier, Trane or York.
6. All materials used for air distribution shall be non-combustible
and shall have a smoke developed rating of fifty (S0) or less.
Ductwork shall be designed and installed in- strict conformance
to the construction standards of the 1969 Fourth Edit-+bn of the
Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractor's National Association,
Inc. (SMACNA) Low Pressure Section and shah be constructed of
new galvanized sheet metal with access doors for dampers, motors,
valves or any ether equipment or accessories. which may require
servicing. , •
7. Flexible duct shall not exceed five feet (5') in length and its'
use shall be limited only for the final connection• to diffusers.
8. Diffusers shall be of an adjustable type furnished with an equalizer
and opposed blade dampers. All diffusers shall be air balanced
to the air quantities indicated on drawings.
9. All ductwork shall be installed as high as possible within the
premises. Unless otherwise penaitted by Landlord, roof mounted
ductwork shall not be permitted.
10. All ductwork, equipmnet and other related accessories in public
or sales areas shall be concealed.
11. Ail equipment which produces air movement shall have a fiexible
connector at all duct connections to prevent the transmission
of vibration to Landlord's structure.
12. Economizer- relief air control system(s) requiring field installation
shall be furnished and installed as recommended by the HVAC unit
manufacturer, the temperature control equipment manufacturer
or in accordance with Landlord's requirements, whichever the
more stringent shall be.
13. All outside air damper motors shall be of a spring return type
to close when the HVAC equipment fan is not operating.
14. Tenant's HVAC equipment shall 'incorporate a high temperature
limit device. to de- energize the equipment, if ,the device is
activated.
15. TEMPORARY WORK PLATFORM (Min. 4' -O" WIDE) is required consisting
ofpp yywlood complete y surrounding the rooftop unit(s) and other
equipment or ducts through the roof. The entire working area
shill remain on roof during the entire period of installation
and shall be removed from the roof and the shopping center site
upon completion of the installation by contractor.
16. Label all tenant roof mounted equipment with' tenant's name and
unit number with a niniprum of 1 -1/2" stenciled letters.
