Dear Sirs:
The Uniform Building Code specifies that every permit becomes
null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit
is not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit.
Our records do not indicate any called for inspections on Permit
",.pt issued to you on October 7, 1988, so it is therefore
assumed work was not started or was abandoned. Under the
provisions of Section 303(d), Uniform Building Code, the permit
has expired by limitation and has thereby become null and void.
The provisions of Sec. 3O3(d) will apply if you desire any

TUKWILA BUILDING PERMIT NUMBER
1. No changes will be made to plans unless approved by Architect and
Tukwila Building Department.
2. Electrical work to be inspected by State Electrical Inspectors and all
required electrical permits obtained through that agency.
• All mechanical work to be under separate permit -- ,(Exhaust hood).
• All permits to be posted at Job site prior to start of any
construction.
Mi. Any new ceiling grid and light fixture installation to meet
lateral bracing requirements for Seismic Zone 3.
▪ All construction to be done in conformance with approved plans and
requirements of the Uniform Building Code (1985 Edition), Uniform
Mechanical Code (1985 Edition), Washington State Energy Code (1986
Edition), and Washington State Regulations for Barrier Free
Facility (1986 Edition).

Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. * ** FIRE EXTINGUISHERS * ** - UFC Article 10 and NFPA
10
The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher
for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s)
should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry
chemical type. Travel distance to any fire
extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1)
(UFC 10.301b)
Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout.
2. * ** EXITS * ** - UFC Article 12
Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
EXIT signs shall be installed at required exit
doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly
indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of a
contrasting color with the surrounding area and shall
have letters not less than six inches high with a
minimum letter width of 3/4 ". (UFC 12.114a & 12.114b)
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.

this mechanism shall unlock with a turn of door
handle.
3. * ** SPRINKLER SYSTEMS * ** - UFC ARTICLE 10 - NFPA 13
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies
licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall
first be approved by the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. No
sprinkler work shall commence without approved
drawings. (City Ordinance #1141 & NFPA 13, 1 -9.1)

Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas.
(NFPA 13, 4- 1.1.1) (UFC 10.302)
Contact the Tukwila Fire Department, Fire Prevention
Bureau to witness all required inspections and tests.

4. * ** ELECTRICAL * ** UFC Article 85 - NFPA 70 - NEC
All electrical work and equipment shall conform
strictly to the standards of the National Electrical
Code. (NFPA 70) (UFC 10.104)
All electrical wiring is to be inspected by the State
Electrical Inspector, Washington State Department of
Labor & Industries. (UGC 10.104)
Each circuit breaker shall be legibly marked to
indicate it's purpose. (NEC 10 -22) (UFC 10.104)
5. * ** BUILDING CONSTRUCTION * ** - (UFC, UBC)
All required occupancy separations, area separation

All interior wall covering materials shall,be
fire - resistive or shall be treated to be
fire - resistive, so as to result in a flame- spread
rating as required by UFC Appendix VI -C tables 42A and
42B. A certificate of the flame spread rating is
required to be delivered to the Tukwila Fire
Department. (UBC 4204) (UFC 10.401)
All wall and ceiling materials constructed of wood,
shall be fire retardant treated. (UFC 10.401)
This review limited to speculative tenant space only
special fire permits may be necessary depending on
detailed description of intended use.
