Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at • one extinguisher for
each 3000 scl, ft. of area. The extinguisher( s) should be
of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C)'dr.y chemical type.
Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or
less, (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) (UFC 10.301b)
Extinguishers shall. be located so as to be in plain
view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view,'
they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire
Extinguisher," with an arrow pointing to the unit.
(NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC 10.301)
2. Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel
when serving an occupant load of. 50 or snore. (UBC 33031
(UFC; 12.1011
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
(UFC 12.104b)
Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
ENLT signs shall be installed at required exit
doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly
indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of ,a

All sprinkler dr.awings shall be prepared by companies

— Stud bolt material is AISI 11 L41 for diameters' l4" •' /2" and AISI 1144 for diameters 5 /e" - 1'/4". This material
meets the chemical requirements for ASTM specification A 108.
— Stud bolt material is AISI 304 stainless steel.
Kwik Bolt Wedges — The two independent expansion wedges for the carbon steel bolts are manufactured from AISI 1050 spring
steel. The expansion wedges on the stainless steel bolts are manufactured from stainless steel,
Kwik Bolt Nuts
— The Kwik Bolt nits for both the carbon steel and stainless steel bolts meet the dimensional requirements of
ANSI B 18.2.2. The carbon steel nuts also conform to the chemical requirements of ASTM A 563. The stain-
less steel nuts conform to ASTM F 594.
Kwlk Bolt Washers
— The washers for the carbon steel Kwik Bolts are manufactured from SAE 1005/1020 and zinc plated in
accordance with ASTM 8633, Fe /Zn5, Type III. The stainless steel washers are manufactured from AISI 304
stainless steel. Both type washers meet ANSI 18.22.1 (1965) type A plain.
