Sections 2 -S 7 and 5 -S 7 indicate the use of 2 x 4's with plywood in the roof system. This will not comply with the code for a one -hour roof ceiling construction. 2. Special inspection is required for the placement of concrete for precast panels. 3. Providing the above is accomplished this alternate to the original plan is acceptable. We have classified this building as a type III one -hour due to the wood framing on the interior. Therefore, the 5/8" plaster board as called for in the finish schedule must be a U.L. rated type "X" gypsum wallboard. 2. The finish schedule shows an alternate of painted gypsum wall- board in the bathroom areas. It must be kept in mind that all toilet areas must conform to Sbction 1711 (a) and gypsum wallboard does not conform to the requirements of the backer board for tile, unless treated in conformance to I.C.B.O. Research Card No. 1733.4 proposed by the Gypsum Association. 3. The actual area allowed by the code for this type building and group occupancy is 10,100. However, by the use of Section 506, using separations on all sides, an increase of 100% would be allowed as you may multiply the footage of the shortest side by 5% per foot of the excess over 20 feet. We have gone over the plan very thoroughly and find the building to be in conformance with all other code requirements. The vent- ing, attic separation, and all such items are called for on the plan and the structural calculations do work out. If we can be of further service please do not hesitate to contact us.
