We are returning to you under separate cover the above subject
plan which has been checked for conformance with the Uniform
Building Code and following are the comments of our plans checkers
We have placed this building into the unrated "N" classification
because of lack of interior fire protection. However, this is
no problem, as it is allowed as long as the following provisions
are followed.
1. Area of building is limited to 18,000 square feet in accord-
ance with Uniform Building Code Section 505,
2. Unobstructed yards of 40 feet are required to be maintained
on 4 sides of building for area purposes. Section 506.
3. Building is limited to 2 stories (55 feet in height) as a
type III -N structure. Table Nu. 5 -D.
4. All wood members with direct connections to concrete shall
be pressure treated, i.e. plates around elevator and other
interior walls.
5. maximum length permitted for deed end corridors is 20 feet.
Section 3304 (e). The corridor should be extended to the
outside, as we presently have a dead end corridor that measures
150 t feet.
6. Walls and ceilings of corridors shall be of one -hour fire -
resistive construction. Section 3304 (f). This requirement
is for the corridor side only.
7. Provide exit signs in accordance with Section 3312 `(b).
8. There is no door schedule shown, however, all doors leading
to the corridor must be 1 & 3/4" Solid Core.
9. The, space between the ceiling and the underside of the roof
(attic). is to be divided into horizontal areas not to exceed
2500 square feet in accordance with Section 3205.
10. Specify the interior wall and ceiling finishes. The
finish on plywood panels must conform to Chapter 42.
11. Concrete designed for ultimate compressive strength in
excess, of 2000 pounds per square inch to be placed under special
inspection. Section 305.
Other structural requirements appear to have been met.
If we can be of further service please do not hesitate to
contact us.
