Blood Bank (30 eaceA, 4�k- We are returning to you under separate cover the above subject plan which has been checked for conformance with the Uniform Building Code and following are the comments of our plans checker, 1. The corridors leading to the lobby of the exit staircases are to have exit signs showing direction to the exit facilities. Circuits lighting these signs are to be on .a separate circuit with the corridor lights and wired ahead of the main panel. 2. Section 3801 requires an automatic sprinkler system must be installed in accordance with Chapter 38 of the Building Standards. The sprinkler system should be submitted to the WashingtmRating and Surveying Bureau prior to installation. 3. A stairway in an exit enclosure shall not continue below the grade level exit unless an approved barrier is provided at the ground floor level to prevent persons from accidentally continuing into the basement. 4. The 'suspended ceiling system is to be of an approved one -hour fire -- resistive type construction as permitted by the code. S. Heating, cooling or other duct work piercing a floor system is to have approved dampers as required by Volume II of the code. 6. The structural elements of the exterior walls are to be pro- tected with materials having a two -hour fire - resistive time period. 7.. No occupancy or storage will be permitted on the second or third stories and all debris resulting from construction is to be removed. This provision is made because of the fact these stories have not been completed and contain no fire - resistive protection.
