CaII to Order: Parks Committee Chairperson Sean Albert called the meeting to order at 5:37pm.
Attendance: Commissioners — Sean Albert, Alice Russell, Joanne McManus, Hassan Abdi
Absent - Don Scanlon, Julie Lee
Staff — Dave Johnson
Approval of Minutes: Joanne McManus moved to approve the Minutes of the May 21, 2014 meeting. Alice
Russell seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Business Items
A. Project Update — The Commission reviewed the Project Update included in the Agenda Packet.
B. DHP Phase II Design — Staff and Chair Sean Albert shared the information on the project included draft
design concepts and ideas.
C. Park Rules Update — Staff continues to work on language for the ordinance update. At the next meeting,
staff hopes to have draft language prepared for the Commission to review.
D. Department Update — Staff presented updates to the Commission on the Teen Summer Kickoff Festival,
FootGolf, Summer Day Camps, and the Park Supervisor position.
Adjournment: Joanne McManus moved to adjourn at 6:15pm. The motion was seconded by Hassan Abdi. The
motion passed unanimously.

Researching equipment, materials, and options for work to be completed.

Reviewed design options, met with Council on the options. Consultant is preparing cost estimates, and

SUBJECT: DRAFT PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Park Rules and Regulations are governed by the Chapter 12.08 of the Tukwila Municipal
Code, which was last updated in 1998. For the past 9 months, you have spent time reviewing
and suggesting updates and new sections. Enclosed is a draft copy based on the suggestions
from the Park Commission as well as the Park and Recreation Staff.
This draft is currently being reviewed by other departments, including Police, Fire, and
Planning.
It is our hope to review these at the August Park Commission meeting and compile your
comments along with those from other departments into a draft to be reviewed by the City
Attorney before coming back to you at the September meeting for final review. From there, it
would go through the council approval process.
There will be opportunity for public input at these meetings as well as at council meetings.
