SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION
Furnish and install louvers as hereinafter specified where shown on
plans or as described in schedules. Louvers shall be stationary
drainable type with drain gutters in each blade and downspouts in
jambs and mullions. Louvers shall have a minimum of 57% free
area based on a 48" wide x 48" high (1219 x 1219) size. Stationary
drainable blades shall be contained within a 6" (152) frame. Louver
components (heads, jambs, sills, blades, & mullions) shall be fac-
tory assembled by the louver manufacturer. Louver sizes too large
for shipping shall be built up by the contractor from factory assem-
bled louver sections to provide overall sizes required. Louver
design shall limit span between visible mullions to 10 feet (3) and
shall incorporate structural supports required to withstand a wind -
load of 20 lbs. per sq. ft. (.96kPa) (equivalent of a 90 mph wind
(145 KPH] wind — specifier may substitute any loading required).
PERFORMANCE DATA
AMCA Standard 500 provides a reasonable basis for testing and
rating louvers, Testing to AMCA 500 is performed under a certain
set of laboratory conditions. This does not guarantee that other
conditions will not occur in the actual environment where louvers
must operate.
WATER PENETRATION
Test size 48" wide x48" high (1219 x 1219)
Beginning point of water penetration at .01 oz./sq. ft. is 1023 fpm (312 m /min).

Louvers shall be Ruskin Model ELF6375DX or ELF6375DXH
extruded 606375 aluminum construction as follows:
Frame: 6" (152) deep. ELF6375DX - .081" (2.1) nominal wall
thickness. ELF6375DXH . ,125" (3.2) nominal wall
thickness.
Blades: ELF6375DX - .081" (2.1) nominal wall thickness.
ELF6375DXH - .125" (3.2) nominal wall thickness.
Drainable blades are positioned at 37 angle and
spaced approximately 5 (150) center to center.
Screen: 3 /4" x .051" (19 x 1.3) expanded, flattened aluminum in
removable frame.
Finish: Select finish specification from Ruskin Finishes
Brochure.
Published louver performance data bearing the AMCA Certified
Ratings Seal for Air Performance & Water Penetration must be sub-
mitted for approval prior to fabrication and must demonstrate pres-
sure drop and water penetration equal to or less than the Ruskin
model specified.
The louver system should be designed with a reasonable safety
factor for louver performance. To ensure protection from water
carryover, design with a performance level somewhat below maxi-
mum desired pressure drop and .01 oz. /sq. ft. of water penetration.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ; 4: -
The Hollow-Set Dropin anchor is designed for anthoring in hollow base
materials such as hollow concrete block, brick with weep holes, and hollow
core pre-cast concrete plank It can also be used in solid base materials making
it a problem solving universal anchor
Hollow base materials such as precast plank or C-90 Block often have a
maximum outer wall tideless of 1-1/2" During the drilling process, spelling
on the back side of the wall as the bit penetrates into the hollow portion of the
base material often decreases the wall tideless available for anchoring to 1
or less This creates a problem for most ainventional style anchors which will
not function properly in materials of this thickness
The design of the Hollow-Set Dropin overcomes this problem FMRC and UL
listrogs make this anchor appropriate for overhead applications

Drill a hole into the base material to the required depth
In hollow base materials, drill through into the cell or
void The tolerances of the drill bit used should meet
the requirements of ANSI Standard 827215
Blow the hale clean of dust and other material Do not
expand the anchor prior to installation Insert cone end
and tap flush to Surface
Position fixture, insert bolt and tighten The bolt should
engage a minimum of 2/3 of the anchor threads The
anchor can also be expanded using a Holbw-Set Tool
f Hollow Tool is used, thread anchor onto tool prior to tapping into anchor hole
When flush with surface, turn tool clockwise to tighten Release tool from set anchor
by turning counterclockwise fixture can then be attached

Blow the hole dean of dust and other matenal insert
the anchor into the hole Position the setting tool in the
U anchor
Drill a hole into the base material to the required depth
The tolerances of the drill bit used should meet the
requirements of ANSI Standard 8212 15
Using the Solid Tool, set the anchor by driving the Zamac
sleeve over tire cone using several sharp hammer blows
Be sure the anchor is at the required embedment depth
so that anchor threads do not protnide above the
surface of the base material Position the fixture, insert
bolt or threaded rod and tighten
AJCHOR SIZES
To select the proper minimum length bolt. determine the thickness of the
fixture including any spacers or shims Add this to the depth required to engage
at least 2/3 of the threads in the cone

Concrete, Block, Brick Precast Hollow Care Plank, Stone
1/4" t 518" [g iM 7typyP
Zamac Alloy with Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel Cones
.PRODUCT: DESCRIPTION
' v <<
The Hollow -Set Dropin anchor is designed for anchoring in hollow base
materials such as hollow concrete block, brick with weep holes, and hollow
core pre -cast concrete plank It can also be used in solid base materials making
it a problem solving universal anchor
Hollow base materials such as precast plank or C -SO Block often have a
maximum outer wall thickness of 1 -1/2 ". During the chilling process, spelling
on the back side of the wall as the bit penetrates into the hollow portion of the
base material often decreases the wall thickness available for anchoring to 1"
or Is This creates a problem for most conventional style anchors which will
not function properly in materials of this thickness
The design of the Hollow -Set Dropin overcomes this problem FMRC and UL
listings make this anchor appropriate fa overhead applications
INSTALLATION.PROCEDURES { ?
4
Drill hole into the base material to the required depth.
61 hollow base matedat,, drill through into the cell or
void The tolerances of the drill bit used should meet
the requirements of ANSI Standard 821215
Blow the hole dean of dust and other material Do not
expand the anchor prior to installation Insert cone end
and tap flush to surface
Position fixture, insert bolt and tighten The bolt should
engage a minimum of 2/3 of the anchor threads The
anchor can also be expanded using a Hollow -Set Tool
If Hollow Tool is used thread anchor onto tool prior to tapping into anchor hole
When flush with surface, turn tool clockwise to tighten Release tool from set anchor

Tukwila, WA 98188
Dear Mr Johannessen,
I am writing to clarify our submittal for the Development Application Number D08 -045 so we
can obtain our permit and move forward with this work. The plan for the chiller wall shows a
screen in- between the CMU columns. This screen will be the Ruskin louver that you received a
specifications sheet for. The louvers will also be used for the gate which will be fastened in a
similar fashion. The typical Masonry Wall detail shown will be used to secure the louvers to the
columns. The louvers will be fastened with a wedge type concrete anchor equal to the submitted
anchor or better. I also included engineering calculations for the columns to support the louvers
from our structural engineer. I believe this should clarify your two review comments and confirm
our conversation last Friday requesting this clarification.
Sincerely,
SABEY CONSTRUCTION
