These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is granted. 4: Truss shop drawings shall be provided with the shipment of trusses delivered to the job site. At the conclusion of the work included in the permit, the structural observer shall submit to the Building Official a written statement that the site visits have been made and identify any reported deficiencies which, to the best of the structural observer's knowledge, have not been resolved. 7: Fire retardant treated wood shall have a flame spread of not greater than 25. All materials shall bear identification showing the fire performance rating thereof. Such identification shall be issued by an approved agency having a service for inspection at the factory. 8: There shall be no occupancy of a building until final inspection has been completed and approved by Tukwila building inspector. No exception. 9: Remove all demolition rubble and loose miscellaneous material from lot or parcel of ground, properly cap the sanitary sewer connections, and properly fill or otherwise protect all basements, cellars, septic tanks, wells, and other excavations. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of this requirement. 10: Manufacturers installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection. 11: All construction noise to be in compliance with Chapter 8.22 of the City of Tukwila Municipal Code. Tukwila, WA 98168 A limited inspection of the above property was performed on April 22" 2008. The sole purpose is the investigation of the fire damage to the structure. Dave Pioli, P.E., performed this inspection. This inspection is limited to observations made from visual evidence. No destructive or invasive testing was performed. The report is not to be considered a guarantee of condition and no warranty is implied. This inspection and report have been conducted in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers. As Professional Engineers, it is our responsibility to evaluate available evidence relevant to the purpose of this inspection. We are not responsible for conditions that could not be seen or were not within the scope. All directions (left, right, etc.) are taken from the viewpoint of facing the front of the building, or via north, south, east, and west. Our evaluation of this structure is based on many indirect observations. We cannot see some of the framing We look for cracks, bulges and other evidence of distress or deterioration to help us evaluate the condition. As with any limited inspection, it is possible there are structural deficiencies that cannot be known. This house is a single family, 2 -story building with wood on the exterior walls. As we understand this building was constructed in the 1980's. OBSERVATIONS There is obvious fire damage to the framing around the chimney chase at the upper level. At the time of the inspection, much of the wallboard around this damaged area had been removed. We are not commenting on upgrading the chimney assemble to modern code, such as the LICEfl9E�cy of the existing chimney flue or boiler exhaust, presence of fire stops, or similar details. No additional engineering design is warranted. This is an easy project for any competent framer. Refer to attached sketch for area generalized area of damage. It is reasonable to assume that the City of Tukwila code enforcement officer will want to inspect the completed repairs. We do recommend that additional wallboard be removed (beyond what was removed at the time of our visit). This is intended to expose all of the damaged wood. For example the top plate of the stud wall between the hallway and Bedroom 2 should be exposed to check for fire damage. Also the beam running in the north south direction in the centre of the Master Bedroom should be exposed to check for fire damage. This report is the complete response to the inspection and should be read in full. It supersedes discussions during the inspection.
