The value of l used in ACI 318 Equation (D -24) must be taken as no greater than h 4.1.7 Requirements for Static Concrete Pryout Strength of Anchor in Shear, V or V Static concrete pryout strength shear capacity must be calculated in accordance with ACI 318 D.6.3, modified by using the value of NCb or N„ as calculated in Section 4.1.3 of this report. 4.1.8 Requirements for Minimum Member Thickness, Minimum Anchor Spacing and Minimum Edge Distance: Values of c and as given in Table 3 of this report must be used in lieu of ACI 318 D.8.3. Minimum member thicknesses, h as given in Table 3 of this report must be used in lieu of ACI 318 D.8.5. The critical edge distance at corners, c as given in Table 3 of this report, must be used in lieu of the values stated in ACI 318 D.8.6. 4.1.9 Requirements for Seismic Design: For load combinations including earthquake, the design must be performed according to ACI 318 D.3.3 as modified by Section 1908.1.16 of the IBC, as follows: The nominal steel strength and the nominal concrete breakout strength for anchors in tension, and the nominal concrete breakout strength and pryout strengths for anchors in shear, must be calculated according to ACI 318 D.5 and D.6, respectively, taking into account the corresponding values given in Table 3. The anchors comply with ACI 318 D.1 as ductile steel elements and must be designed in accordance with ACI 318 D.3.3.4 or D.3.3.5. 4.1.10 Requirements for Structural Sand - lightweight Concrete: Where installation in structural sand - lightweight concrete is intended, the N N V and VIP values must be multiplied by 0.60. 4.1.11 Interaction: The interaction of tensile and shear forces must be calculated in accordance with ACI 318 D.7. 4.2 Allowable Stress Design: 4.2.1 General: Design for use with allowable stress design Toad combinations calculated in accordance with Section 1605.3 of the IBC, must be established as follows: R 8„ow, ASD - RJ Cr (1) where Rd = • R,, represents the limiting design strength in tension (ON,,) or shear (¢V„) as calculated according to ACI 318 D.4.1.1 and D.4.1.2 and Section 4.1 of this report. Limits on edge distance, anchor spacing and member thickness, as given in Table 3 of this report, must apply. For load combinations including earthquake, the value R in Equation (1) must be multiplied by 0.75 in accordance with ACI 318 D.3.3.3. Allowable loads for single anchors in tension and shear with no edge distance or spacing reduction are provided in Tables 4 through 6 as examples. These values have been derived in accordance with Equation (2) using the appropriate strength reduction factors Ofrom Table 3 and the a factors provided below. For all other cases: T /T enow, ASD + V / Va „ow, ASD S 1.2 4.3 Installation: (2) Installation parameters are provided in Table 2 and in Figure 3. The ITW Trubolt + Wedge Anchors must be installed according to ITW's published instructions and this report. The nominal drill bit diameter must be equal to that of the anchor. Embedment, spacing, edge distance, and minimum concrete thickness must comply with Table 3. Holes must be predrilled in concrete with a compressive strength from 2,500 to 8,500 psi (17.2 to 58.6 MPa) at time of installation, using carbide - tipped masonry drill bits manufactured within the range of the maximum and minimum drill tip dimensions of ANSI 8212.15- 1994. The carbide - tipped drill bit diameter must equal the anchor diameter. Holes are created by drilling to required embedment, h described in Table 2 and then must be cleaned to remove loose particles. The nut and washer must be assembled on the end of the anchor, leaving the nut flush with the end of the anchor. The anchors are then driven through the fixture to the required embedment depth in concrete. The anchor must be expanded to the specified torque requirement listed in Table 2. 4.4 Special Inspection: Special inspection is required under the IBC and IRC in accordance with Section 1704.13 of the IBC. The special inspector must be on the jobsite continuously during anchor installation to verify anchor type, anchor dimensions, concrete type, concrete compressive strength, hole dimensions, edge distance, anchor spacing, slab thickness, anchor embedment and tightening torque. 4.5 Jobsite Quality Assurance: Where anchors are used for seismic or wind resistance, jobsite quality assurance must conform to Section 1705 or 1706 of the IBC. 5.0 CONDITIONS OF USE The Red Head Trubolt + Wedge Anchors described in this report comply with, or are suitable alternatives to what is specified in, those codes listed in Section 1.0 of this report, subject to the following conditions: 5.1 Anchor sizes, dimensions, and installation parameters are as set forth in this report. In case of conflicts, this report governs. 5.2 The anchors must be installed in accordance with ITW's published instructions and this report. 5.3 The anchors are limited to installation in cracked and uncracked, normal- weight or structural sand - lightweight concrete having a specified compressive strength, f', of 2,500 psi to 8,500 psi (17.2 MPa to 58.6 MPa). 5.4 The values of f' used for calculation purposes must not exceed 8,000 psi (55.1 MPa). e Material Handling Expert ' RACK INFORMATION SUPPLEMENT SITE ADDRESS: 18375 Olympic Ave S.
