AN.ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
INCREASING THE CITY METRO RATE, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 934, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1303
WHEREAS, Metro notified the City of an increase in Metro sewer rates
pursuant to the agreement between Metro and the City, and
WHEREAS, the new Metro sewer charges will be in effect January 1, 1985.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS, FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 934, Section 2, and Tukwila Municipal
Code 14.16.065 each be amended to read as follows:
14.16.065 City Metro Rate. The City -Metro charges as provided for in
Section 14.16.060 and as required by the Agreement for Sewage Disposal between the
municipality of metropolitan Seattle and the City of Tukwila is set at the sum of
seven dollars and e.ighty cents per month per residential customer and per
residential customer equivalents. Every person sixty -two years of age or older
(if married, then either spouse) and every person totally and permanently disabled
residing in a separately metered dwelling and who is paying directly for such
separately billed service either as owner, purchaser or renter, and whose income
from all sources is less than seven thousand five hundred dollars per year, if a
single person, or a combined income of husband and wife of ten thousand dollars
per year, if a married person, shall pay the following rate for Metro services to
such dwelling: a flat rate of three dollars and tep ninety cents per month.
Every such person shall file with the Finance Department their affidavit that
he or she is qualified to be charged the special rate. Such affidavits are to
contain information as required by the Finance Director in order to establish
eligibility. Each affidavit will also include an unqualified promise to inform
the City of any changes in financial condition that would disqualify the person
for the special rates. The Finance Director may require affidavits on an annual
basis if deemed necessary. (Ord. 1303 Sl, 1983; Ord. 1194 §1, 1980; Ord. 1164

Section 2. Ordinance No. 1303 is hereby repealed.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this day of 1984.
