AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA ANNEXING PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF
TUKWILA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE REVISED CODE OF WASHINGTON 35.13
AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 282 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF THE STATE OF
WASHINGTON FOR 1961.
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW35.13, annexation proceedings for certian property
contiguous to the city limits of the City of Tukwila, hereinafter described,
were commenced and
WHEREAS, prior to the circulation of a petition for annexation, the initiating
parties notified the City Council of their intention to commence annexation proceed-
ings and requested a meeting on the proposed annexation and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of February, 1962, the City Council met pursuant to
RCW 35.13.125 with the initiating parties and determined that the City would
accept the annexation and that there was no existing indebtness for the area to
be annexed to assume and
WHEREAS, a petition signed by 100% in value, according to the assessed valuation
for general taxation, of the property for which annexation is petitioned was filed
with the City Council, which petition sets forth a legal description of the propert3
and was accompanied by plat or drawing, outlining the boundaries of the property
sought to be annexed and
WHEREAS, the MAYOR of the CITY of TUKWILA and the King County Superintendent of
Schools dispensed with the Board of Review proceedings, pursuant to RCW 35.13.172
and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was called for March 12, 1962, and notice of said
hearing was given in accordance with RCTI 35.13 and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing interested parties were heard and Council having
determined that the annexation shRJ1 be made,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tukwila DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to RriG'! 35.13 annexation proceedings the following
described property contiguous to the City limits of the City of Tukwila, to -wit:
Portion of the Northwest quarter of Section 14, Township 23 North range
4 E.W.M. described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Southeasterly Production of the South-
westerly margin of South 133rd Street, with the center line of the Green River;
thence Northwesterly along said production and said Southwesterly margin of
street to intersection with Southeasterly margin of 56th Avenue South;thence
Northeasterly along said tracts, according to Plat recorded in Volume 12 of Plats,
page 79 in King County ,Washington; thence Southeasterly along Northeasterly margin
of 57th Avenue South; thence Northwesterly along Southeasterly margin of said Tract
74 and the Production thereof to the center line of the Green River; thence Westerly
and Southwesterly along center line of said River to the point of beginning,
shall be and the same hereby is annexed to the City of Tukwila,
SECTION 2. The said annexation shall be effective on and after midnight April
2, 1962, and from and after said date property shall be subject to all the laws
and ordinances of the City of Tukwila then and after in force.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after midnight
April 2, 1962.

We, the undersigned property owners, having met initially with
your city council January 15th for a hearing, in accordance with
statutes of the State of Washington, and having been informed at
said hearing there is no existing city indebtedness which the aree
to be annexed would have to assume, and having been further
informed at said hearing that the City of Tukwila will act
favorably upon our request for annexation, hereby request you
set proper proceedure in motion for a public hearing on the
matter,
We,. the undersigned, are owners of not less than 75% in value,
according to the assessed valuation for general taxation, of
the following described property, which is hereinafter more
particularly described, and a plat of which is hereto attached
showing the boundaries of the property sought to be annexed,
do hereby petition your honorable body for annexation to the
City of Tukwila, the following described property:
TRACT 47 THROUGH 51; TRACT 65 THROUGH 74
EAST RIVERTON GARDEN TRACTS SECOND ADDITION
ACCORDING TO FLAT RECORDED IN KING COUNTY
