2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the
Building Official.
3: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center
(206/431- 3670).
4: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to
start of any construction. These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is
granted.
5: Readily accessible access to roof mounted equipment is required.
6: All construction shall be done in conformance with the approved plans and the requirements of the International
Building Code or International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, Washington State Energy Code.
7: Manufacturers installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection.
8: All plumbing and gas piping work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the Cityof Tukwila
Permit Center.
9: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building
Department (206- 431 - 3670).
10: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.
12: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by the Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
13: H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned
in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2051)
14: H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be
equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the
air- moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main return-air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors
shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions. (IMC 606.1, 606.2.1)
15: Remote indicator lights are required on all above ceiling smoke detectors. (City Ordinance #2051)

GENERAL NOTES
1. All duct sizes shown are clear inside dimensions.

3. ASEI to air balance all systems to within 10% of design airflow upon project completion.
4. Insulate supply and return duct work per Washington State Energy Code. See Plan for
details. 2" liner & wrap shall insulate to R -7 minimum.
5. All ducts to be sealed per the Washington State Energy Code.
6. Materials within ducts or plenums shall have a flame spread rating less than 25 and a
flame smoke development rating less than 50.
7. All smoke /fire dampers are to be installed per manufacturers instructions.
COORDINATION NOTES
General Contractor
1. General Contractor to cut and provide openings for all rooftop, ceiling, floor, and wall
penetrations, including weatherproof sealing. ASEI to provide size and location.
2. General Contractor to provide framed openings where required for all mechanical
penetrations, including headers if required. General Contractor to verify penetration
locations with ASEI before framing openings.
3. General Contractor to furr in ductwork as required.
4. General Contractor to provide all demolition, patching and painting as required for
mechanical work.
5. General Contractor to spread roof and floor trusses /joists to accommodate mechanical
work.
6. General Contractor to provide service access per code to all mechanical equipment.
7. General Contractor to level all factory curbs provided by ASEI, provide all cant strips and
curb insulation, and seal against leaks.
8. General Contractor to provide structure for mounting and hanging members of
mechanical equipment.
9. General Contractor to provide all cutting of t -bar ceiling and extra material as required for
HVAC installation.
10. Fire damper access doors on duct work to be installed by ASEI. Access to duct work
through walls and ceilings by General Contractor.
11. General Contractor to paint/protect all exterior gas piping in a manner satisfactory to the
administrative authority (per UPC).
Plumbing Contractor
1. Plumbing Contractor to offset vents 10 feet minimum from all HVAC fresh air intakes.
2. Plumbing Contractor (ASEI) to furnish and install all condensate drain lines per code.
3. Plumbing Contractor to furnish and install all required water lines and valves for all
mechanical equipment including all supports, sleeves, and meters.
4. Plumbing Contractor (ASEI) to furnish and install all gas piping required for mechanical
equipment including valves, sleeves, supports, and pressure reducing valves.
Electrical Contractor
1. Electrical Contractor to provide all electrical connections, disconnects, and motor starters
for mechanical equipment.
2. Electrical Contractor to verify equipment sizes, loads and locations with ASEI mechanical
plan and with field conditions.
3. Electrical Contractor to provide fan controls as described in Fan Schedule.
4. Electrical Contractor to provide 120v service outlet within 25 feet of each piece of
mechanical equipment.
5. ASEI to install all 24 volt low voltage wiring for thermostats.
6. Electrical Contractor to install all line voltage wiring and conduit.
Fire Alarm Contractor
1. Fire Alarm Contractor to tie duct smoke detectors into fire alarm panel.
2. Fire Alarm Contractor to provide 120vac or 24vac or 24vdc to duct smoke detectors.
3. Fire Alarm Contractor to provide a N.C. dry contact at each HVAC unit to shut unit off if
fire alarm occurs. ASEI will tie dry contacts into thermostat control wires as needed.
4. Fire Alarm Contractor to provide power and control to all combination smoke /fire
dampers. ASEI will provide 120vac damper actuators at each combination smoke /fire
damper.
COMPLETION
As -Built Record Drawings
1. Provide record drawings with minimum information specified in WSEC 1416.1 to Owner
within 90 days of system acceptance.
O &M Manuals
1. Provide Operating and Maintenance Manuals with minimum information specified in
WSEC 1416.2 to Owner.
Systems Balancing
1. Provide a written balancing report documenting testing and balancing of air and hydronic
systems as specified in WSEC 1416.3 to Owner.
Systems Commissioning
1. All HVAC control systems shall be tested in accordance with WSEC 1416.4.1 and
1416.4.2.
2. For all HVAC units, verify that thermostat activates heating mode, cooling mode, for all
available stages, and verify that fan is set to run during all occupied hours. Verify initial
programming of thermostat. Verify unit operation per ASEI Start and Test Report.
3. For all HVAC units with hydronic heating or cooling, verify that thermostat activates
control valve. Verify that central plant controls maintain loop water within specified set
points.
4. For all HVAC units with economizers, verify that system controls activate economizer
dampers when outdoor setpoint makes free cooling available, and that dampers modulat
in conjunction with mechanical cooling staging per WSEC 1413.
5. A Preliminary Commissioning Report shall be prepared, with minimum information
specified in WSEC 1416.4.2.2.1.
6. A Final Commissioning Report per WSEC 1416.4.2.2.2 shall be prepared and filed with
the Owner.
