Cooking equipment involving vegetable or animal oils and fats shall be protected by a Class K rated portable extinguisher. (IFC 904.11.5) 20: Portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. Portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight not exceeding 40 pounds (18 kg) shall be installed so that its top is not more than 5 feet (1524 mm) above the floor. Hand -held portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight exceeding 40 pounds (18 kg) shall be installed so that its top is not more than 3.5 feet (1067 mm) above the floor. The clearance between the floor and the bottom of the installed hand -held extinguishers shall not be less than 4 inches (102 mm). (IFC 906.7 and IFC 906.9) 21: Fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of the extinguishers. (IFC 906.6) 22: H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2051) 23: H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the air- moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main return-air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (IMC 606.1, 606.2.1) 24: Remote indicator lights are required on all above ceiling smoke detectors. (City Ordinance #2051) 25: Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset from a single point near the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #2051) 26: Duct detectors shall send a supervisory signal only upon activation. (City Ordinance #2051) 27: All new fire alarm systems or modifications to existing systems shall have the written approval of The Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No work shall commence until a fire department permit has been obtained. The BAS shall perform the following rooftop control strategies, provide the points listed on the points list and provide the specified monitoring and diagnostics. 1. Occupied Mode - All unit functions will be enabled for normal heating and cooling operation. Unit defaults to thermostat mode when communication with BAS is lost_ 2.. Normal Operation - When in occupied mode as described above, the dedicated unit control shall operate stages of heating and cooling to maintain space temperature setpoint_ Set points shall be reset through BAS by the operator. Starting Mode: When the unit is turned on by the BAS for optimal start, heating or cooling is provided as required_ The outside air dampers, if provided, remains closed, in heating mode, until occupied time Coast -Down Mode:When the unit is turned "OFF" by the BAS for optimal stop, the supply fan remains "ON ", the outside air damper remains open for ventilation, and a setpoint offset is initiated to limit heating and cooling_ Space comfort is protected by the user defined setpoint offset. Duty Cycle Mode: When the unit is duty cycled "OFF" it is put in a user - defined Duty Cycle Mode. User defines max/min temperature limits to ensure occupant comfort and override duty cycle if limits are exceeded. Demand Limit Mode: Through the BAS a user defined Demand Limit Mode shall be available. User defines maximum off time and temperature to ensure occupant comfort. Night Setback Temperature Control: When the BAS selects unoccupied mode, the unit shall be controlled to maintain user defined unoccupied heating and cooling set points. The outdoor air damper remains closed during heating night setback operation, if provided_ Nighttime Free -Cool Purge Mode:An "economizer only" cooling cycle shall be provided during unoccupied hours when outdoor air conditions are suitable and the zone requires cooling_ Low Ambient Compressor Lockout: Compressor operation shall be disabled below a user defined outdoor air temperature. Timed Override: When a timed override is initiated by the user, the unit will return to its user defined normal occupied mode for the user determined period of time. Fire Shutdown: The unit will shut down in response to a customer supplied contact closure to the BAS indicating the presence of a fire or other emergency condition. Manual Mode Selection: The BAS Operator shall be able to select the following unit operating modes: Unit Status Report: For each AC unit, the BAS shall provide an operating status summary of all sensed values (zone temperature, discharge temperature, etc.) set points and modes_ Diagnostic /Protection: The BAS system shall be able to alarm from all sensed points from the rooftop units and diagnostic alarms sensed by the unit controller_ Alarm limits shall be designated for all sensed points_ Duct Heater (DH) 1. Application Communications: Data Sharing - All Custom Multi- Purpose Application Controllers shall be able to communicate in a peer -to -peer environment over a twisted pair of communications wire_ Kitchen Unit Controls The Make -up Air Fan, SF -1, and the Kitchen Exhaust Fans associated with the Kitchen Hood, EF -1 through EF-4, shall be controlled via the time schedule in the York Johnson controls Building Controller. These fans shall be interlocked with two manual switches (manual wall switches and their installation and wiring are not part of this scope and shall be furnished by others). One switch will provide a timed manual override of the entire Kitchen Hood System and associated fans_ The second switch shall provide a positive manual shutdown of the entire Kitchen Hood System and associated fans in case of emergency. The system will not start if the manual shutdown switch is in the emergency shutdown position. The operating status of SF -1 and EF -1 through EF-4 will be monitored in the York Johnson controls Building Controller_ The York Johnson controls Building Controller shall annunciate an alarm if any fan is not operating after being commanded on. Dishwasher Exhaust Fan 2_ Common area lighting shall be on during normal hours and switched to partial lighting during specified night time hours as specified on the Electrical Drawings_ 2_ Unit Identification - The Multi- Purpose Controller shall have the capability of flashing and LED upon receiving a command from a service tool or BAS. The Custom Application Controller shall also have a binary input which will send the unit address to a service tool or BAS for unit identification_ This input shall be accessible at the Custom Application Controller and the unit zone sensor. The Dishwasher Exhaust Fan, EF -5, shall be commanded to operate any time the dishwasher is activated and continue to run for thirty (30) minutes (adjustable) after the dishwasher is turned off to remove moisture_ The operating status of EF -5 will be monitored in the York Johnson controls Building Controller. The York Johnson controls Building Controller shall annunciate an alarm if the exhaust fan is not operating after being commanded on. Smoking Section Controls If there is a smoking section the AC -5 shall have a powered exhaust economizer with a two speed fan. During all occupied hours the powered exhaust shall operate on a lower speed to create a negative static pressure in the space and the fresh air damper shall be at minimum_ During economizer mode the powered exhaust shall run at full speed and the fresh air damper shall go to a maximum setting still maintaining a negative pressure in the space relative to the neighboring rooms. Time -of -Day Scheduling - The system panel shall allow ten schedules to group devices. Each schedule shall be able to have a separate schedule with two on and two off events per day_ The panel shall be capable of optimally starting (achieving desired conditions at precise time of occupancy) the HVAC units based on individual unit recovery ramps. Time - of-Day scheduling shall be continuous, such that if power is lost, on power -up the panel will look back for each device to see whether is should be on /off or in occupied /unoccupied temperature setpoints. If necessary, the software will look back at the previous day's schedules to determine the desired state of each device /zone. D. Holiday and Exception Schedules - Through the central panel or computer there shall be a minimum of twenty (20) defined Holiday or Exception dates. E. F. Optimum Start - The software shall determine the optimum time to turn on the rooftop equipment based upon the previous day's recovery ramp. G.Timed Override - Each scheduled device shall be able to be overridden at the system control panel to the occupied mode for up to four hours_ The override shall also be cancelable from the control panel at any time during the override. H_ Daylight Savings Time - The system panel software shall automatically update time according to daylight savings at the legislated time and date and reset time at the end of the daylight savings period_ This function shall be able to be disabled. In addition, if the legislative dates for the start and stop of daylight savings time should be changed, the system panel shall be editable to calculate the new dates based on day -of -the- month, week -in- the -month and the month and then automatically resume the new daylight savings parameters_ I_ Temperature Units - All temperature inputs connected directly to the control panel or communicating over the communications link shall be able to display temperature inputs in degrees Fahrenheit or in degrees Centigrade, selectable from the front keypad.
