The new cooling unit will weigh 762# per the manufacturer's drawings. I have added another 100 pounds for the curb. The existing roof consists of metal decking supported by 16" K type bar joists at 6' on center. These are supported by 36" deep joist girders. There is a steel beam in lieu of a bar joist adjacent to the large roof top skylight. The new HVAC unit will be placed near the northwest comer of the skylight. You intend to place one edge of the unit on the joist girder and the other end can be supported by two bar joists, or one bar joist and the steel beam. The existing roof framing is structurally adequate to support the new HVAC unit. I have attached supporting structural calculations and a placement sketch for the new HVAC unit placed on the roof framing.
