AN ORDINANCE of the City of Tukwila, regulating the erection,
construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, demolition,
conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance
of all buildings and or structures in the City of Tukwila; providing
for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; providing
penalties for the violation thereof; declaring and establishing fire
zones; revising table 3 -A, "Building Permit Fees repealing Ordinance
#256 of the Town of Tukwila, and all ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict therewith.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That a certain document, three copies of which
are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila,
being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, Volume 1,
1961 Edition, by the International Conference of Building Officials
be, and the same is hereby adopted as the building code of the City
of Tukwila for regulating the erection, construction, enlargement,
alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occu-
pancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of all buildings
and /or structures in the City of Tukwila; providing for issuance of
permits and collection of fees therefor; providing penalties for
violation of such code; declaring and establishing fire zones; and
each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions
and terms of such "Uniform Building Code, Volume 1, 1961 Edition,
by the International Conference of Building Officials on file in
the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and
made a part hereof as though fully set forth in this ordinance.
Section 2. That Table 3 -A, page 31, Building Permit Fees of
this Uniform Building Code, Volume 1, 1961 Edition, shall be changed
to read as follows:

Over $50,000.00, for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction
thereof, add $1.00.
Section 3. That ordinance #256 of the Town of Tukwila,
entitled "An Ordinance of the Town of Tukwila regulating the
erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving,
demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area,
and maintenance of all buildings and /or structures in the Town
of Tukwila; providing for the issuance of permits and collection
of fees therefor; providing penalties for the violation thereof;
declaring and establishing fire zones; revising Table No. 3 -A,
"Building Permit Fees" and Section No. 205 "Violation and Penal-
ties"; repealing Ordinance No. 179 of the Town of Tukwila and all
ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith." And
all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 4. That the entire incorporated area of the City
of Tukwila is hereby declared to be and is hereby established as
a Fire District and said fire district shall be known and desig-
nated as Fire Zones 1, 2 and 3, and each such zone shall include
such territory or portions of said city as illustrated, outlined,
and designated on a certain map on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Tukwila being marked and designated as "Fire
Zones of the City of Tukwila which is hereby adopted as the fire
zoning map of the City of Tukwila for the application of the regu-
lations included in the "Uniform Building Code, Volume 1, 1961
Edition, by the International Conference of Building Officials
Section 5. That if any clause, sentence, section, pro-
vision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be unconsti-
tutional or invalid for any reason by any Court of competent
jurisdiction, such judgment shall not impair or invalidate the
remainder of this ordinance which shall remain in full force and
effect thereafter.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, signing and publication as required by law.
