MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gary Van Dusen called the Special Meeting of the Tukwila City
Council to order.

MOVED BY HERNANDEZ, SECONDED BY MORIWAKI, THAT
ITEM "3b" (PRESENTATION TO THE CITY OF TUKWILA) BE
ADDED TO THE AGENDA UNDER NEW BUSINESS. MOTION
CARRIED.
Councilmember Rants requested that the Mayor's office initiate a
survey of other cities comparable to Tukwila in size regarding the "Bid
Award" method they are using; and the construction costs overruns
they are experiencing.
a. A resolution adopting the Transportation Improvement Program.
b. Award contract for 1990 Overlay Project to Watson Asphalt Paving
Company, in the amount of $347,506.10.
MOVED BY LAWRENCE, SECONDED BY MORIWAKI, THAT
THE CONSENT AGENDA BE APPROVED AS SUBMflT ED.
MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY MORIWAKI, SECONDED BY EKBERG, TO
AWARD CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF POLICE
FIREARMS TO SNC DISTRIBUTORS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $21,644.29. MOTION CARRIED.
Council President Hernandez shared a plaque that had been presented
to the City by the South King County Council of Human Services. The
Plaque was presented for Tukwila's innovative leadership in social and
health services by a local government.
MOVED BY ROBERTSON, SECONDED BY RANTS, THAT THE
SPECIAL MEETING ADJOURN TO THE COMMITTEE OF THE
WHOLE MEETING.
