Community planning started in the early 1990's just after annexation of the neighborhoods on either side of the street into the City of Tukwila. Planning continued from the Comprehensive Plan (1995) to the Revitalization Plan (1998) to subsequent updates to both documents. Issue: As part of the 2015 update to the Comprehensive Plan, the City will be revisiting the broad existing goals and policies for the area. Because of the continued importance and ongoing public efforts to make changes in the area, additional meetings are being proposed for Planning Commission discussion and review of the issues that continue to challenge the area. Request: Please review the Attachment for organization, list of subjects, and the time proposed for each topic. We'd also like to schedule a walk along the Boulevard. We request that the Commission reach consensus on the review and provide direction to staff at the August 28, 2014 meeting.
