6b AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHING-
TON, ADOPTING A NEW LONG RANGE PARK AND OPEN
SPACE PLAN AND REPEALING ORDINANCES 546 AND
964,
WHEREAS, RCW 35A.63 authorized the City of Tukwila to
perform comprehensive park and open space planning, and
WHEREAS, the Tukwila City Council did request the
Administration through the Parks and Recreation Department to
prepare an updated Long Range Park and Open Space Plan, in-
cluding a Capital Improvement Program and a Redevelopment
Study for Foster Golf Links, and
WHEREAS, a community survey and Park Commission pub-
lic meeting were conducted to obtain input on identified
needs, and
WHEREAS, necessary review and modification of the
plan has been completed by the Administration and Park Com-
mission and has been recommended to the City Council for
approval, and
WHEREAS, the Plan has been presented to the City
Council in a public hearing, and
WHEREAS, an Environmental Assessment on the proposed
Long Range Park and Open Space Plan has been prepared, re-
viewed by the Planning Department, Park Commission, and City
Council, the City's responsible official has determined that
there will be no significant adverse environmental impacts as
a result of adoption of the plan and the City Council has
concurred in such determination, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Long Range Park and Open Space Plan,
including the Capital Improvement Program and Foster Golf
Links Redevelopment Study, as prepared is hereby adopted as
the Long Range Park and Open Space Plan for the City of Tuk-
wila.
Section 2. The former Comprehensive Park and Recrea-
tion Plans prepared by the Office of Community Development,
and Ordinances 546 and 946 by which said plans were adopted
are hereby repealed.
Section 3. A copy of the plan, program and study
adopted by this ordinance shall be recorded with the King
County Department of Records and Elections and the necessary
copies as required by law shall be filed in the office of the
City Clerk.
Section 4. A copy of this ordinance and the Park and
Open Space Plan shall be filed with the following City de-
partments:
A. Planning Department
B. Public Works Department
C. Finance Department
D. Parks and Recreation Department
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication as pro-
vided by law.
