GENERAL: The recirculating hoods, described under PRODUCT COVERED, are intended for use with UL Listed commercial cooking appliances whose limitations are specified on the Classification Marking. See Table 1 below for appliance specifications and adapter plate designation. The hood models are as described in the Construction Details of this Section. The Model FSH -2A is identical to the Model FSH -2 except that it is physically taller. The Model FSH -2A -99 is identical to the Model FSH -2 except that it is physically taller and employs a diffuser at the exhaust outlet to vent the exhaust air horizontally to each side. See Illustration 2B for construction details and Illustration 15 for construction details of the diffuser. The model FSH- 2A -99W is identical to the Model FSH -2A -99 except that it is 8 inches wider at the base to accommodate the specified ovens. See Table 1 below for appliance specifications. See Illustration 2C for construction details. The model FSH -2 -PH is identical to the Model FSH -2 except that it is narrower. See Illustration 17 for construction details. The ductless hood assembly consists of exhaust blowers, electrostatic precipitators, metal baffle type grease filters, and air filters. A UL unlisted component (GOUZ3) fire suppression system as described in Vol. 1, E143926(Sp) shall be factory installed including all required wiring, piping and discharge nozzles, with a minimum of one nozzle behind the grease filter. If the access door is open or the blower does not operate, the cooking appliance is deenergized. the hood fails to operate, the cooking appliance is deenergized. If filters are operated until the point of filter blockage, the unit will cease to operate and de- energize the cooking appliance. In the event of a fire in the cooking appliance and the activation of the fire extinguishing system, the power to the cooking appliance is terminated. The hood blower will continue to operate. Interlocks and pressure switches are wired in series with the main power contactor and the cooking appliance and hood. The markings shall be in letters not less than 1/8 in. in height, of a permanent type and in a color that contrasts with that of the background. Models with optional UV Light System are identical to models without UV light system except as shown in figure 8, 8A, 8B, and 8C. UV light does not effect the EPA202 results as the test was conducted without the UV lights.
