Item 1: "Plans show the relocation of a steel tube header and replacing sprayed insulation. Provide documentation to specify special inspection requirement or what method of inspection shall be required for welding and sprayed foam insulation. Details shall identify type and size of welds (IBC Section 1704)." Response We have visited the field and verified that the sally port is a semi heated space with a dry sprinkler system that is served from the parking garage below. Current roof has R -19 rigid insulation on top of the flat slab concrete roof and the exterior concrete wall panels shown on sheet SKA 306 are not covered with sprayed foam insulation. In lieu of applying form insulation we are now showing R -11 batts over soffit stick pinned on wall with a FS -25 facing. The steel headers shown are in the original structural design where non structural. These headers where provided for attachment of the coiling door. The headers are being relocated under this permit. Welding for their attachment is shown on sheet SKA 306 along with the specification for inspection. The engineer of record has reviewed and stamped the applicable drawing sheets. Drawing revisions are clouded and labeled as 1. "Code references on the cover sheet refer to outdated codes. Provide notes on plan cover sheet to show how of work meet current 2006 International Building Code." Response The shell building permit was approved originally for this project using the 1997 UBC, however the building shell was also designed based on the 2000 IBC which had not been adopted to minimize future code compliance conflicts because the TI work would be need to be permitted under the 2003 IBC. We have taken the 2003 IBC code information that was submitted for the TI permit and updated the cover sheet information. We reviewed the 2006 code and updated the cover sheet information according to the 2006 code. In the process we found that the project remains in compliance to the IBC which it was designed under. In addition under the Tukwila High Rise Ordinance the building is a high rise structure. It was constructed in that manor for fire department ordinance compliance even thought according to the building code, because of the average finish grade around the building; the structure is a four story building over a three story parking garage. The purposed work of increasing the height of doors 125B and 125C. This work does affect compliance to code. Drawing revisions are clouded and labeled as 1.
