Must review VHS tape prior to installing materials. 2. Materials must be overlapped 1 inch and stapled. 3. Spacer must be stapled every 6 inches. 4. Bottom of material must be stapled every 4 inches. 5. In exposed bottom applications with white or foil to be overlapped, material must be stapled every 4 inches. 6. Using metal flange materials — screws are provided by manufacturer; install three per piece, one in the center and the others 6 inches from the ends. Always verify pieces in center to insure that the insulation is tight on both sides of the installation. 7. Use only Ideal #375 for taping. It is recommended that all butt joints should be stapled together with ACE 700 staples every 4 inches. 8. For white materials, use tape provided by manufacturer only. 9. If moisture content is over 10 %, leave ends open until it is acceptable (for materials not venting roof.) No warranty if not tested per technical directions or if non - vented building is left unoccupied. Have a least 12 inch vent in roof. 10. In the event of roof leaks, open the ends in the area and allow the materials to air dry. 11. Always verify length of materials prior to ordering. 12. Always verify correct spacer, especially in truss roof systems since there may be 2x4's flat over plywood seals. Take into account the air space required. 13. Never leave gaps. If you cannot staple, use correct tape. 14. Be professional in all workmanship. (No warranty if not installed correctly or tampered after installation) 15. Inspect roof periodically for metal corrosion or fungus growth. (No warranty except replacement of defective material.) 16. Must wear latex or nitrate surgical gloves when handling fiberglass insulation. The !craft spacer attracts moisture when present, and the adhesive dissolves, allowing the insulation material to drop out, instead of trapping moisture in to further damage the roofing system. If a roof leak is present, material opens in immediate area to help locate the leak. You will also need a Moisture Correction Chart. ✓ You have two methods of testing plywood: 1. Enter electrode from the top of plywood and enter highest reading as you test entire thickness of plywood. 2. Enter electrode from the bottom and enter highest reading as you test entire thickness of plywood. ✓ Take reading every 1,000 sq.ft. area (one). On report enter actual meter reading then temperature correct factor and then True Reading. You have a choice of entering all readings or state "Highest reading to be found is.. ". For OSB board use: Tramex Moisture Encounter Meter. Phone (303) 972 -7926 ($300.00). • Understand 20% reading is saturation point. • Use reading #1 when testing from bottom. • Use reading #2 when testing form top. ✓ Replace Roofing Membrane Meter when pads are worn or every 3 years. ✓ Add 3 to each reading. ✓ TEST STUDS ✓ Readings to be within 3 inches of trusses. Per the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and/or the National Electric Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the provisions of these codes shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit has not begun within 180 days from the issuance date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work has begun for a period of 180 days. Your permit will expire on 12/08/2009. Based on the above, you are hereby advised to: 1) Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206 - 431 -2451 to schedule for the next or final inspection.
