HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0351 - Emergency ExpendituresOrdinance No.351 EXPIRED An Ordinance providing for the expenditure of money not provided for in the preceding annual budget, setting out the amount constituting the emergency for said expenditures and the estimated amount of money required to meet the same and declaring an emergency exists. WHEREAS, obligations have been incurred and will be incurred which, in the judgment of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila, could not have been reasonably foreseen at the adoption of the preceding annual budget, and WHEREAS, it became necessary for the town to have a survey of the legal description of the town boundaries prior to the election for advancement of classification and the King County Commissioners, by Resolution No. 22948, dated July, 31, 1961, employed John. and Company to survey the boundaries of the Town of Tukwila, a copy of this Resolution being hereb attached, it therefore became necessary for the Town of Tukwila to transfer funds to pay for this survey, and WHEREAS, dte to this advancement in classification funds are also needed to pay for Town Hall Improvement, and WHEREAS, it became necessary to replace the radio equipment of the Fire Department to meet the standards maintained by other Fire Departments in the County, and to make;unexpected repairs to the Fire Department equipment which were unforseen expenditures, and WHEREAS, unforseen obligations were incurred which had to be paid from the UNDISTRIBUTED item in the Current Expense Fund, and WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen for the payment of said obli- gatipns incurred and to be incurred, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF TUKWILA as follows Section 1. That the estimated amount of obligations incurred by the Town of Tukwila which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the tim€m of the adoption of the preceding annual budget, for add- itional expenditures of the Current Expense Fund for boundary survey are in the amount of THREE THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS 0$3,240.00). Section 2. That the estimated amount of obligations to be incurred for Town Hall improvements which could not have been foreseen at the time of the adoption of the preceding annual budget, are in the amount of TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS( 2,000.00). Section 3. That the estimated amount of obligations incurred by the Town of Tukwila, which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the adoption of the preceding annual budget, for additional expenditures of the CURRENT Expense Fund for Fire Department expense are in the amount of FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY -ONE D0LLAR5(531.00). Section 4. That the estimated amount of obligations incurred by the Town of Tukwila, which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the adoption of the preceding annual budget, for undistri- buted amounts are in the amount of ONE HUNDRED THIRTY THREE DOLLARS 4133.00). Section 5. It is hereby declared that an emergency exists for the payment of the above obligations incurred or to be incurred as set forth in Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the herein ordinance and that all are paid or to be paid from the Current Fund. That the aforesaid sums be made available for the payment of same, there: beg at present more than said amounts in the Town Site Fund and the Flood Control Fund. Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
