Refer to the attached City of Renton e-mail, which is part of this permit approval. 17: PSE has two (2) gas mains installed on the frontage of the subject property. A 36" clearance must be maintained vertically and horizontally from the high pressure (HP) gas main and a 12" clearance must be maintained vertically and horizontally from the distribution (IP) gas main. When the contractor calls for locates, PSE Public Improvement Inspector will be automatically notified of the work in the vicinity of PSE HP gas main any any IP gas main larger than 4" in diameter. Depending on the location of the fence posts in relation to PSE gas mains. The project manager for the fence installation shall notify PSE Public Improvement Inspector Mr GUS BANKS at 206 396 -4158, who shall be on site during excavation around the PSE gas mains. There may be a cost involved with PSE Inspector presence on site during excavations. Qwest will have no concerns or objections to your plans to build a security fence and gate surrounding the new property on 180th. If your contractor calls for locates and is aware of where our existing facilities are located then I feel there should be no problem with the construction of the new fence and gate as planned. Further, if there is some flexibility in the design and you move the one corner of the new fence a couple of feet to the north, it would seem that your contractor will be well out of the way of all the facilities in the joint trench that all the utility companies went in. The City's utilities were installed by the City of Tukwila as part of the relocation of existing utilities for the S. 180th Street Grade Separation project in 2002/2003. Tukwila has reserved easements for the operations and maintenance of Renton's water and sewer lines. I've copied a number of rules and 1 ; that must be adhered to while installing your proposed fence. You have two gas mains installed on the frontage of your property. One is the distribution (IP) main and the other is the high pressure (HP) main. While designing your fence, please keep in mind that a 36" clearance must be maintained vertically and horizontally from the HP gas main and a 12" clearance must be maintained vertically and horizontally from the IP gas main. When you call for locates, our Public Improvement Inspector will automatically be notified that you will be working in the vicinity of our HP gas main (and any IP gas main larger than 4" in diameter). Depending on the location of your fence posts in relation to our gas mains, the PI Inspector may be required to "stand by" during installation and there may be a cost involved with this. Our "typical" gas main depths are 3'd for IP mains and 3' to 5'd for HP mains. From time to time, soil conditions don't allow for the standard depth. In order to determine the exact depths, you can order potholes. Although I can't recommend any one company over another, I have had really good results using APS out of North Bend - Chris Dunham is my main contact there and he's great to work with.
