ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKNILA, WASHINGTON,
VACATING A PORTION UF SOUTH 139TH STREET EXTENDING
APPROXIMATELY 90 FEET WESTERLY OF INTERURBAN AVE,
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has received u valid petition re-
questing vacation of a certain portion of South 139th Street,
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on said petition
on October 10, 1983, as required in RCW 35.79'020, and
WHEREAS, the City Council Public Works Committee reviewed the
matter at its meeting of October l9 l9O3 and referred the petition back
to the full Council, and
WHEREAS, n Declaratinn of Environmental Non-Significance was
issued for the street vacation petition on November 7, 1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHING D0 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section l, That portion of South 139th Street as described on
the map attached as Exhibit x A x is hereby vacated.
Section 2. Pursuant to Ordinance #1lO87, Section 5, such vacation
of land shall not bAcnme effective until all persons acquiring the land to
be vacated have compensated the City in an amount equal t0 one-half the
appraised valuation of said property pursuant to RCW 35.79.030; the City
may retain an easement for construction, repairs and maintenance of pub1 4 c
facilities if deemed necessary'
Section 3, Total square footage of the area to be vacated is
1,804 square feet and current value, based on the adjacent property values
as shown On the records of the K1ng County Department of Assessments is
4^96 per square font. In accordance with Section 2 of this ordinance,
compensation due the City of Tukwila at 0n8-half the total value of the
land to be vacated is $4,473'92.
Section 4, All monies received from this street vacation will
go into the following revenue fund: Sales of and compensation for loss
of fixed assets, 000/385 ]OO,
