The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 20B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (IFC 906.3) (NFPA 10, 3 -2.1) 18: Portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. The northern connection has an approved DCDA, however we have not received a test report since 11/07. The southern connection has a DCVA that is not on the approved assembly list, has not been tested since 1/07, and has had the downstream valve removed to facilitate fitting it in the vault. The existing Fire Department Connection (FDC) is located on the southern connection.
