Dear Mr Schulz:
The purpose of this letter is to apply for a waiver to the moratorium on development in
critical area sensitive areas imposed by Tukwila Ordinance No. 1544. Mr. Steve Gula, owner of the
above referenced property, would like to construct a concrete retaining wall along the
west property line of his property adjacent to Martin Luther King Jr. Way South, (SR900)
as shown on the enclosed permit submittal drawings. The proposed improvement will
eliminate the steep grades within the State of Washington right -of -way where sloughing
and erosion of the existing earth bank results in a maintenance problem due to
accumulation of earth on the paved shoulder of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. Mr.
Gula is willing to do this work at no cost to the State of Washington and hopes that
construction can take place during the drier summer months.
