Description of Incident
On 10 - 1 - 14 at approximately 1555hrs an officer was flagged down regarding an
altercation that had taken place at the nearby Cascade View Park. The officer was
notified that someone had been stabbed and the suspect was fleeing on foot toward the
th
Saar’s Market place located at 3725 S. 144 St. The suspect who was a 28 year - old
Seattle man was quickly located as he was running through the parking lot of the Saar’s
Market place . He was taken into custody without incident and the knife used in the
incident was recovered.
Other responding units contact ed the victim who was conscious and responsive. He
was identified as a 16 year - old male from Tukwila and had sustained a single kni fe
wound to the chest. He was quickly transported to Harborview Medical Center with life
threatening injuries. Multiple witnesses came forward and stated that the incident had
or iginally started as a verbal altercation in the park which quickly escalated to a physical
fight. Witnesses identified the man who the officer detained nearby as the one who had
stabbed the victim.
If not for the proactive nature and dedication of our officer s as well as the cooperation
with the community this incident could have turned out very differently. As always, we
appreciate and value our partnership with our residents to help keep our community
safe.
