On Thursday, February 22, 1979, the Planning Commission approved the
landscape plans for Pacific Metals, Inc. (McCann Project #433) with
the following conditions:
1. That trees be planted along the Green River on 30 foot
centers; and,
2. That the area between the rail easement and the Green
River rip -rap be hydroseeded.

A detailed landscaping and irrigation plan, prepared by Weedman's Landscap-
ing, has been submitted for the Pacific Metals, Inc. Building located at
18325 Olympic Avenue South.
The plans call for plantings along Olympic Avenue South and the east side
of the building. The planting strip along the street will consist of
Norway Maples spaced at 30 feet intervals with Baltic Ivy as groundcover.
This blends with the landscaping approved for projects #380 and #402.
Mugho Pine, Nandina, Portugal Laurel, Alaskan Pendulant Cedar, and Rhodo-
dendrons will be interspaced with Old Gold Fitzers. The landscape plans
do not address the treatment of the area along the Green River. The City
of Tukwila Shoreline Master Program requires that the River Zone be land-
scaped.
Staff recommends the Planning Commission approve the landscaping and irri-
gation plans with the following conditions:
1. That trees be planted along the 'Green River on 30 foot centers;
2. That the area between the rail easement and the Green River be
hydroseeded.
PLANT LIST
ALASKAN PEDULANT CEDAR - Conifers with needles in tufted clusters. Branches
droop vertically.
BALTIC IVY - Hardy evergreen woody vines with small leaves. Has whitish
veins and turns purple in winter.
JAPANESE BLACK PINE - Evergreen tree with spreading branches. Becomes irregular
with age.
MUGHO PINE - Shrubby symmetrical evergreen with low growth habit.
NANDINA - Evergreen or semi - deciduous shrub. Lightly branched, canelike stems
and delicate fine textured foliage.
NORWAY MAPLE (SCHWEDLEN) - Deciduous tree with large leaves that are purplish
red in spring and turn to dark green and then gold in autumn.
OLD GOLD FITZER (JUNIPER) - Evergreen shrub. Medium green to gray green color.
PHOTINIA FRAZEN - Evergreen shrub with glossy dark green leaves. Compact.
PORTUGAL LAUREL - Densely branched evergreen shrub or tree. Has glossy dark
green leaves.
RHODODENDRON SPECIMEN - Evergreen or deciduous shrubs.
