RE: EXPANSION OF JOLLY OX RESTAURANT - TUKWILA Dear Mr. Well ` / As per our telephone conversation of Tuesday, 9 January 1979, the request for a building permit for the expansion of the Jolly Ox was reviewed by the Plan- ning Division and found to provide insufficient parking as required by the Tukwila Municipal Code. T.M.C. 18.56.110 and 18.56.120 determines the required parking by taking the square footage of the rooms of public assembly and dividing by seven to esta- blish the occupancy then dividing that number by five. The present dinning room and bar consist of 3,075 square feet, which requires 88 parking spaces. The site provides 87 parking spaces. No expansion can be approved without a corresponding expansion of the parking facility. A of 112 parking spaces would be needed to be provided for the planned expansion. Therefore, we have recommended denial of the building permit.
