RE: BEC Parking Lot - Andover Park East and Baker Boulevard
Dear Mr. Karschney:'
The Tukwila Planning Commission at their last regular meeting on Thursday,
22 March 1979 reviewed and approved the development plans for the above
project with the following conditions:
1. That the•landscaping areas be serviced by underground sprinklers.
2. That the Planning Division review and approve the type of shrubs
and trees to be used prior to completion of the parking lot.
3. That the landscaping be completed by August 1, 1979.
I have reviewed the type of plants in the specifications. They follow the
theme that is established around the BCS Building. It should be noted that
the use of gravel for surface cover is questionable.. Aesthetic standards
have changed in the last ten years and we would prefer to have live ground -
cover or bark. However, it is totally appropriate in this case and you can
follow the specifications dated March 15, 1979.

3.05 FOUNDATION FOR PIPES
A. Grade the trench bottom to provide a smooth, firm and stable
foundation at every point throughout the length of the pipe.
B. In areas where soft, unstable materials are encountered at the
surface upon which the "select" fill material is to be placed,
remove the unstable material and replace with material approved
by the Engineer. Make sufficient depth to develop a firm
foundation for the pipe. If the need for such overexcavation has
been occasioned by an act or failure to act on the part of the
Contractor, make the replacement at no additional cost to the
