Box 3707 Seattle, Washington 98124 RE: BEC Parking Lot - Andover Park East and Baker Boulevard Dear Mr. Karschney:' The Tukwila Planning Commission at their last regular meeting on Thursday, 22 March 1979 reviewed and approved the development plans for the above project with the following conditions: 1. That the•landscaping areas be serviced by underground sprinklers. 2. That the Planning Division review and approve the type of shrubs and trees to be used prior to completion of the parking lot. 3. That the landscaping be completed by August 1, 1979. I have reviewed the type of plants in the specifications. They follow the theme that is established around the BCS Building. It should be noted that the use of gravel for surface cover is questionable.. Aesthetic standards have changed in the last ten years and we would prefer to have live ground - cover or bark. However, it is totally appropriate in this case and you can follow the specifications dated March 15, 1979. RJB /ckh cc: Ping. Sup. Take special care to provide a firm bedding support on the underside of the pipe and fittings for the full length of the pipe. 3.08 BACKFILL FOR PIPES A. Trenches and other excavations shall not be backfilled until approved by the Engineer and the authorized representative of the local agency having jurisdiction over the subject utilities and public works. B. After the pipe has been properly bedded, fill for a minimum of twelve inches above the top of the pipe with select fill, compacting as specified in 3.10 A, above. C. Backfill the remaining depth of the trench with unclassified material in landscaped areas and unimproved areas and with select fill everywhere else. D. Place all select and unclassified fill in six inch lifts, compacting to specified density after each lift and before the next one is placed. Methods of compaction shall be approved by the Engineer. 3.09 SPOT SUBGRADE REINFORCEMENT A. Areas of soft, spongy, or otherwise unsuitable material which is located within the pavement shall be removed and wasted. The material removed shall be replaced using materials and methods as specified herein. 3.10 COMPACTION A.
