Committee Meeting, 23 May 1978
I have scheduled a meeting of the Short Subdivision Committee for 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, 23 May 1978 at the Andover Fire Station.
Please find attached a copy of the revision proposed by Mr. Wayne Carter
with respect to his proposed short subdivision. Essentially, the revision
provides a 15 -foot wide access easement across the south lot to the north
lot. As his letter explains, this is being done primarily in anticipation
of future reductions in minimum lot area requirements.
The Short Subdivision application was reviewed by the Committtee on 15
March 1978 and approved with 2 stipulations. A copy of the notes of that
meeting is attached for your information.

The Short Subdivision Committee met on 15 March 1978 to consider action on your
application for short plat as referenced above.
The Committee approved the application with the following conditions:
1. Survey be accomplished to include all necessary information.
2. The new common lot line be situated so as to ensure compliance with
zoning requirements for existing structure.
Your application together with this letter should be taken to a surveyor to
accomplish the survey and have the short plat drawn accordingly. That task
completed, please bring the completed application to me for final review and
certification. Once certified, the short plat form must be recorded at King
County to effectuate the short plat.

Notes of Meeting, 15 March 1978.
SHORT SUBDIVISION COMMITTEE
Committee present: Kjell Stoknes, OCD; Terrence Monaghan, Public Works; Jim Noel,
Fire Department. Gary Crutchfield represented the Planning Division. 4:15 P.M.,
Andover Fire Station.
Short Plat: Carter (M /F #78- 03 -SS)
Mr. Wayne J. Carter, applicant, was present.
Discussed alternative subdivision design. Mr. Carter preferred two long lots in
favor of three typical lots due to unimproved condition of South 142nd right -of-
way, sewer location and slope of rear portion of property. Mr. Crutchfield noted
the two long lots will tend to preserve the rear portion of the property in its
natural state due to steepness and the existing lots in this vicinity are similar
to the proposed action.
Mr. Monaghan noted the drawing had not been done by a surveyor. Mr. Crutchfield
explained the Planning Division had accepted the application in this manner as a
result of recent objections to the codified procedure. The Committee's action
would necessarily be incorporated by the surveyor in his actual survey and prepara-
tion of drawing. The drawing prepared by the surveyor would be checked against the
Committee's action prior to certification by the Committee Chairman.
Motion by Mr. Stoknes, seconded by Mr. Hoel and carried to approve the short plat
with the following stipulations:
1. Survey be accomplished to include all necessary information.
2. The new common lot line be situated so as to ensure compliance with
zoning requirements for the existing structure.
